RE: 2010 Wisconsin Fall Rally, October 8th - 10th

It's quiet here on this thread :Z Yeah, it's making my job easier..... :B Not sure if it was posted earlier or not, however Indian Trails did an awesome job on expanding and finishing the waterwheel shed. The area that we used to use tarps to cover is now all hard sided, and the interior is a honey colored pine. Very nice! They've also added more length to the BMX bike park for the kids.

Yup, the tent walls just don't hold up the LCD TV very well, and there's not a good place for plugging in the blender ;)

RE: Cord from tailer to tow vehical, teminology & where 2 buy?

Mine's a 7 round. Don't they just make the cord with molded on plug ready to wire to the trailer?

Cord from tailer to tow vehical, teminology & where 2 buy?

What's the correct terminology for the cord that connects the electrical/brake control from the trailer to the tow vehical, and where besides an RV dealership do I buy one? Thanks.

I love mine. Can't speak on the gassers but the diesel / Allison combo rocks.

RE: beach driving

As others said, air the tires down low, stay in 4wd, and don't spin the tires, selecting manual on the trans and staying in higher gears will help prevent tire spin. The airing down is key, having driven in sand many times the difference betwwen a few pounds of air in the tires is significant, air as low as you can, 15 PSI is about the max I'd dare run as you want to see those tires bulging, then take it easy as you don't have as much pressure holding the rubber to the rims. I'd also suggest marking the tires to the rim with a paint pen line or something simular so if you happen to spin the rubber on the rim you'll know it and know which one needs to be rebalanced. Heck I used to run some tires down to 8 PSI in the sand and never once had a problem. Have fun!

RE: Does everybody drive pickup trucks?

While growing up my parents towed our trailers with big ol cars, as a kid I never thought twice about it but as cars evolved to be lighter now days a bigger trailer is just going to win the battle if pulled with most cars. SUV's can do it, we pulled our trailer with a 2003 Expedition. It did the job towing through the Rocky Mountains and then the Smoky Mountains but I always knew the trailer was behind me and the milage was horrible. Now with the 1 ton truck I have to remember I'm towing the trailer and I have 8 feet of bed space to haul more stuff. I also like that the stuff can be thrown in dirty and wet if need be, the Expedition had the tan interior which was hard to keep clean. Watch your weight ratings and wheel base and with the right mix it can be an easy tow.

RE: 2010 Wisconsin Fall Rally, October 8th - 10th

Wow, can you say light show? Very bright and loud by our place this morning. It was a great light show by us also, thankfully no winds this time. Update on my fathers. We cleared his driveway yesterday afternoon after hours of chain sawing & hauling but we have alot more to do, that darn storm uprooted 15 or so large 14-18 inch diameter trees on his property. Good news is the house wasn't touched, and I'll have plenty of fire wood for a good long time.

Wow! That was a big storm that blew through our area last night. We're ok but I will be helping my father cut up some trees later that fell across his driveway. Hope everyone else faired ok.

RE: Dummy about diesels and need help. 2006 LBZ

You've bought a great and highly saught after dmax and will get many more miles out of it. Great recommendation to go explore Dieselplace.com, you'll find tons of info out there on your dmax. One additional note, don't freak out when you notice tranny fluid under your truck. Unless the previouse owner did the fix on the tranny lines they will weap due to the poor crimps and the cheap hose GM used, they leak more when it's cold out but a quick peek under your truck for wet lines can verify if you have this issue during the summer months. I just did the fix on mine which is to have a hydraulic shop make new ones since the new ones from GM come with the same issue at a higher cost. Cost of the fix is around $150 and about 4 hours of DIY.

Horrible news out of Arkansas. Flood kills 16 campers and others are missing on Little Missouri river after water rises from 3 feet to over 20 feet overnight. CNN

RE: GM wants to now SNUFF out "Chevy"

I'm guessing that the two VP's mentioned that signed the memo are also going to be the replacments for Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels in an upcoming remake of the 1994 adventure commedy of Dumb & Dumber. Dumb & Dumber 2 :p
