Monaco Plumbing Question 08 Camelot

I was interesting in what actually goes through the whole house water filter. So I turned off the water line to the filter thinking I should still get water to the toilet. No dice. Anyone have any idea why it's plumbed that way? Thanks.

RE: Pick Up for a dinghy ??

My 09 Toyota Tacoma with a Remco Driveline disconnect is as simple as my 2002 Jeep wrangler was; and a lot more comfortable.

RE: Negotiating Help....First purchase

NADA is sometimes way off.
When I bought my 08 Camelot NADA was saying an 06 was worth that same price. Thats why I bought a new one. Keep looking.

RE: lost 1/2 of my 120 volt shore+inverter power

Check the side of the inverter for two pop out breakers. If one feals out. Push it in.

RE: Ford 460 vs V10 1st vs V10 2nd gen

I don't have an opinion but I will share my history. When I was towing a 5th wheel I had a FORD 460. My first Motorhome was a F53 chassis with the 1999 V-10.
I got better milage with the V-10. It was fine in the Southwind motorhome pulling a jeep. I think every year after for a few they increased horse power.
Everthing equal, I would get the newest one. One issue with the old 460 was warped heads if they were cooled to quickly after a long uphill pull.

RE: Air operated toad brake

Have an MSI Airforce One on mine. I installed it in one day. A little tricky but not rocket science. I would do it again. Works great.

RE: My first 5th wheel trip coming up... flat tire question?

You will know. Christopherglenn is correct. Also change the tires every six years and keep the best one as an emergency spare. Age is the big problem. Have fun and enjoy

RE: water filters

Water filters are a good idea anywhere. You can make your own from any hardware store. They will help you select all the parts you need. It's easy to do. Also, you may want to consider a small portable water softener.

RE: Motorcycle Carrier

Ted. According to the Honda website your bike is only 302.4 lbs wet.
This may change some of the responses you get here. I have my Harley in the back of a toyota tacoma which I tow behind my motor home. Good luck.

RE: Kinda scared

Good luck. It's a hard decision. I agree with Enblenthen, either get a house sitter or lock it up for a few months. I'm 55 and have been retired for 3 years. The dream is great but the reality can be dawnting. If you have a lot of hobbies you can do on the road you will be fine. I enjoy golf and motorcycling but the wife is now medically unable to do either with me so it does get booring in my case. With the way PER's and STR's are getting hammered it might be a good move to retire now. Just have a back up plan. If you spend the winter in Arizona just expect people to ask if you are there visiting your parents! I'm always the youngest in the crowd.
The BIG question is - do you want to quit working at the college - if the answer is yes then by all means go for it. If not, take off for the summer and then retire at the end of next December. You probably have already missed the bonus time frame for submitting your retirement date to the college?
Good luck, I also taught college on the side for 18 years - does get old.

RE: Question about inverter/charger "load shareing"

If you turn your generator on it should turn off the shore power and run everything off the generator only.

RE: One-Piece Windshield

Hard to say, your profile does not tell us what motor home you have.
Some had design issues, mostly 04-06, while other just need some more sealent.

RE: HELP! Insurance claim may be denied

Some insurance co's will pay but then deduct the added premium. GMAC for one said that is what they would do if my yearly milage was understated.

RE: Battery charger and front a/c don't work on shore power

On the side of the inverter are two push out fuses. One may be in the out position. If so, some of your interior plugs will be dead also.
Does you coach have an EMS, if so, your shore power may be low and its adjusting.
