RE: Imperial National Wildlife Refuge

A lot will depend on the season. Winter should be fine. The rest of the time...HOT, HOT, even more hot! Lived and worked in that country 22 years......

RE: crock pot tenderloin

Well...it was OK...next time I will cut the liquid to maybe 1/2 cup and increase the dry ingredients. Also cut the time for the veggies.
It is easy, tho and most likely will try it again.

RE: Internet access while on the road

We had Motosat for 8 years. In those years we only had 2 places where we could not "see" the satellite. Both were trees on overnight stops.
We camped in many remote areas where cell service was non existent and enjoyed the internet. Yes it was a bit slower, but we managed just fine, even my moderating jobs :B For us it was the ideal solution and if we were still fulltiming, we would still have it! So don't discount the system.
Our system was automatic, not manual.

RE: A sad day

Well, we did it :( Paid rent on storage for the winter...inside, no less :E Hopefully by this time next year our 36 x 50 storage/garage will be built, or we will own another house with proper storage and get this one rented......
Hate having my baby out of sight :E

RE: dishes

When we started I got Corelle. Weight in that first fiver was an issue. I truly wish I had taken my dinnerware from the house. I loved it and still miss it. I have tried to replace it but can't find it anywhere!

RE: Retirement

We have been retired 11 years, at age 53......we hit the road for 9 years, then settled in gorgeous ID.
Our question is...when did we have time to work?

RE: Full timing and the need to plan ahead for next move?

potoole....that is why we chose the mountains of Idaho to spend our last years after fulltiming. We love the winters and never get bored.
We have had enough brown, dry deserts to last a lifetime...in fact that was our life before the green mountains!
A typical winter day is:
Dressing for the weather, grabbing the snow shovel and clearing the walkways, then strap on the snowshoes or Yak Trax and going for a morning hike. Come in for hot steelcut oats, then a few hours of moderating RV.net.
Another hike thru the woods, or maybe drive to the state park trails. Seeing the snow against the green of the forest, clean tracks indicating the passage of deer, wolves or just untracked snow.
Back home to a dinner of homemade stew with bread fresh from the oven, settling in for a long winter's night...knitting a blanket or again moderating the forums.
What's not to like?

RE: It's 67 this morning

We have been in the 30's....snow showers expected by Sun....good-by petunias :E
But maybe it will help control the Hurd fire that is 2 miles from us...we have the camper loaded and ready to evacuate......
