RE: Gas Tank Filler

I have exactly the same problem on my W22. But an additional challenge. The rubber hose is held on by regular radiator hose clamps. The problem is that the screws on the clamps are facing up, right underneath the MH floor and there's not enough room to get fingers or tools up in there. Anybody have any ideas?
The chassis is less than two years old but the rubber is checked, cracked, and swollen. I would have thought it would resist gasoline more than that unless it's weakened by the chemical additives in the gas.

RE: Tow Dolly ??'s

I did some online shopping and found Demco KarKaddys for significantly less than what their website shows. I ordered one from Big Discount RV in Decatur, IL with a spare tire and rack. It came with free shipping to my house in AZ for a total of $2800, at least a thousand less than direct from Demco. It was easy enough to assemble myself and I really like the heft and quality of it. I'd recommend it to anybody.
I agree that you definitely want brakes and the Demco has surge brakes and break-away brakes.

RE: Change refrigerator to home type refrigerator

Mine came with an Amana home unit. The thing to remember is that it only runs on 110volt ac. My MH also came with a 2000 watt inverter. So I run down the road with the inverter running the fridge. The chassis battery charging system keeps up with it all no problem and charges the house batteries also. If I was boondocking, fully charged batteries thru the inverter would keep the fridge going for 1 1/2 to 2 days. It is a very efficient fridge.
As far as converting to a home unit, you do have to have a source of 110 volts, either the genny or an inverter. Good luck.

RE: Demco Kar Kaddy

Thanks to all, I appreciate the comments and advice. I've heard nothing but good things about the KarKaddy.
By the way, snow won't be an issue here in the desert.

Demco Kar Kaddy

Has anyone bought one of these, had it shipped to their house, and assembled it themselves? I am reasonably handy with a wrench but I want to make sure that something as important as a dolly with which to tow a car is done right and safely.
Any comments? Thanks in advance.

RE: Washer/Dryer

Ours came with the stacked Whirlpool set. Works great, we love it. Our coach maker previously used the Splendide set but there were a lot of horror stories of breakdowns, etc. Switched to Whirlpool and now very reliable. Don't use it a lot, but would much rather have our own than the laundromat.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Changed oil & filter on the generator, filled coach with gasoline and propane, vacuumed the carpet. Getting ready to take kids and grandkids up to Grand Canyon next week.

RE: which laptop

I'm a MAC guy all the way. MACs specialize in graphics and come with great photo and movie processing programs and I shoot pictures when on the road.
I agree that both make good products but here's one point. So far, the hackers have not gone after the MACs yet. I've had several friends lose computers due to viruses but they were all PCs.
Good luck and have fun.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

I've spent the last several days waxing the beast. There sure are a lot of square feet on those flat sides but it sure looks good when done. I like to just look at it and imagine the next trip.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Changed the oil and lubed the chassis about a week ago. In the next couple days will wash and wax and begin loading for our big trip. Will be on the road for three weeks up the coast of CA and OR, camping with our kids in OR, then returning to Phoenix via eastern OR, ID, UT and Zion National Park.
Gonna get out of the heat for a little while. Really looking forward to it.

RE: First trip in the Class A

I've had my 35 foot gasser less than a year but I already love driving it. My son in law who has experience in long haul trucking told be about the aim point on the windshield. I use the corner of the instrument panel on the right highway edge white stripe. Keeps me well positioned. The light touch on the steering wheel is critical, keeps me from oversteering.
Keep on rolling, you'll love it!!

Map in signature block

Where do I get one of those maps many of you have in your signature block? I really enjoy seeing the colored states showing where you have been. Thanks in advance.
