RE: Custer State Park

custer state park is a great place to stay, very scenic. I would stay at Game Lodge campground (water, dump station and elec hookups) because it is closest to a very scenic route to Mt. Rushmore. from the campground, go east and then north on highway 16A. it circles around to highway 244 and Mt. Rushmore. the park will have a map showing the roads. when you continue on west to yellowstone, you can take 16 west out of Custer over to Newcastle, WY and then head in whichever direction you were planning to go. We loved Custer State Park ! It was the best part of our trip ! We also stayed at Game Lodge campground Site #30 or #33 can't remember, but it was back by the creek close to the ampitheater ( barn). Loved It ! There is also a laundry room and the restrooms where very nice !

RE: Quick Overnight stays

We have often been in a hurry to get from one place to another, and we always travel with children. We have used this site a lot in finding over night spots, which also provided a place for the kids to stretch there legs. http://www.freecampgrounds.com/index.aspx We have only overnighted at one Wal Mart and it was in Laramie WY. Our daughter called it Wal Mart National Park ! We will always remember what a great time we had ! Good luck to you, If we knew what route you were taking we could recommend some places.

RE: Mount Rushmore

We stayed at Game Lodge in the park ! Loved every minuet of it ! Even decided if we went back it would just be to stay in the park ! Site #33 I think. A beautiful creek running through it,and close to everything. But we are big open space people, we don't like being right next to other campers. Also the restrooms were very clean and they have a nice laundry. But buy your groceries before you go in to the park.

RE: Tanglewood Tortilla Soup

This sounds very good, but looks like it take a while to prepare and cook. I have a very simple recepie if you would like to try it and compare. This sounds very good, but looks like it take a while to prepare and cook. I have a very simple recipe if you would like to try it and compare. 2-4 chicken breast cut up in 1 inch pieces. ( very easy to cut up if partly frozen ) 2 cans cream of chicken soup 2 cups milk 2 cans yellow corn 1 can rotel tomatoes ( I like mild but you can get hot ) 2 cans crushed tomatoes 1 pkg. Taco Seasoning mix 1 tsp. garlic powder or minced garlic. 1 medium onion - chopped fine In Large skillet sauté chicken in 2tsp oil, onion, garlic, salt and pepper until done. In large soup pan combine cream of chicken soup, milk, and Taco Seasoning mix, add Chicken, corn and tomatoes. Simmer for 1hr. Enjoy ! Serve with grated Cheese and Totilla chips.

How long have you been Full-timing ?

I was wondering as my DH, myself and our daughter are about to begin a life of full-timing, just how long have "you" been full timing ? How old were you when you started ? Where do you go in the winter ? Why did you pick the rig your in ? How many of you full-time with Children ? Just wondering and waiting for the house to sell.

Buy/pay off or make payments ?

WOW< Can't believe I'm typing this...we are selling the house ! we have a 07, 5er and love it, but if all goes well we will probably upgrade to something a a bit bigger and all-weather. So do we pay it off or do we make payments ? I know it will depreciate so making payments makes since to me...

RE: Yellowstone-Flathead Lake-Glacier-Grand Teton

Fishing Bridge is a great location to see everything from and we were gone ALL day ! so it was just a place to sleep, plus it snowed every morning but one so the heater was nice ! And the showers were closed the first couple of days we were there. But we are investing in a generator so we can stay where we can have more space. The fishing was banned at fishing bridge because that is where the fish spawn and if you take the time to walk across the bridge in the spring you can actually see them. We also saw beavers and Pelicans. It really is a neat place. Last year a mother Grizzly and her two cubs crossed the bridge a ranger happened to be on the bridge at the time and got a ride from someone coming across in there truck. But we have decided a generator is going to be a very good investment ! OH and FYI, the store there has a bargin area upstairs, and as we went into some of the other stores, we spotted things that were not on sale in them, that the Fishing bridge store had on sale. Life is God's gift to you. What you do with your life is your gift to God.

RE: Mueller State Park Colorado Pictures ?

It looked like you had a great vacation ! I was going to reserve 2 sites up that loop, but they looked like most were to short for our rig. and we needed 2 side by side. We are traveling with my cousin. Thanks for great pictures. Actually I can't find it now, but I remember seeing your pictures.

RE: Colo. Springs CG suggestion

I have been told "Mueller SP" is the BEST ! You will want to make reservations ASAP , we have tried several times and they have always been full when we wanted to go. we are going to try again in July.

RE: ks rv parks

Wellington Lake Several years ago we camped there in a tent, it is a nice little lake. I think it's the nicest thing your going to find "close" to Wellington. This is what the web site says about it; Wellington Lake has so much to offer! Beautiful campsites! Electric and water hook-ups available. Three (3) large boat ramps. 1-mile mowed nature trail provides excellent opportunities for hiking. Handicap-accessible fishing pier is well lit and safe. Well-maintained covered picnic areas with grills. Two shower/restroom facilities Swimming area away from boat and fishing activity. Duck blind rentals available in the fall.
