If so, the only way this would provide 30AMP service is if the generator is wired using two separate circuits, wired from the heads to outlets, each with their own 15AMP circuits, and with the outlets that just happen to be the same distance apart as a dual socket (which is how the generators this adapter is set up for are).
As you may recall, I rewired my generator in a very similar fashion so that the two 15AMP output lines were bonded at the head and run to a 30AMP outlet. Now, many generators are coming from the factory wired that way.
This would not work with a campground electrical post as the two outlets are from the same main circuit, so all you would get is 15 or 20 amps on the socket side of this adapter and is basically the same thing as this.

All commercially built RVs use a 110V/30A (hot, neutral, ground) outlet or 220V/50A (two hot, one neutral, one ground) outlet at the campground electrical post, and most that I've encountered have that "standard" 110V/20A outlet also available, but not all.
You mention that you want to keep the electrical system simple. I ask, why not wire the connection between your home-built RV to the appropriate (30A or 50A) outlet and, using a distribution sub-panel, locate "standard" outlets at various points within your RV for those appliances that use them? In other words, just as the commercial RVs have? There are sub-panels available that accommodate 110VAC an 12VDC within the same enclosure. You would then use the appropriate gauge of wire on each circuit with the appropriate fuse/circuit breaker, and not rely on the circuit breaker (which could become faulty after years of use and abuse) for your RV electrical protection.
So, unless you're planning on only hooking up to 20A service (at someone's home), and not using a sub-panel for power distribution; something I definitely do *not* recommend, you will find that using the "traditional" way of hooking up your RV is actually the easier and simpler way to go.

Here's was I did a couple of years ago (attached a cargo carrier for the purpose of carrying a sound box enclosure for a generator). Here are some pictures of that set up.
And here's a testimonial from one of my fellow moderators who also posted the most recent pictures showing the muffler relocation.
Something to consider to keep the noise police at bay.

One question. It appears to have two 15A outlets. How do you get 30A out if it? Many A/Cs require more than 15A to start.
The Champion has a 30A outlet.
I rewired the generator head using a wiring diagram from the link I mentioned earlier. Looking back at the thread, the wiring diagram is no longer available, so I'll scan the wiring diagram from my book with the mods and post it on my web site, then post it here.
Basically, there are two coils that produce electricity from the generator. The two coils each have one hot and one neutral lead. The hot leads from one of the coils are wired 180 degrees out of phase from the other coil, resulting in 240V@30A (120V@15A on each leg) or 2x120V@15A (each going to a separate outlet).
What I did was take the hot lead from the second coil (red) and bond it with the neutral of the first coil (white). I then bonded the neutral lead from the second coil (blue) with the hot lead of the first coil (brown).
This results in 120V/30A since the two coils, each producing 120V, are now in phase and are bonded together. Needless to say, I "beefed" up the wiring from the generator head to the 30A circuit breaker and then to the outlet (a total of about 4 feet) with 12/2 with ground Romex.
At the 240V receptacle, I have the new hot lead running to the "Y" terminal, the new neutral wire running to the "N" terminal, and the ground (chassis ground) running to the "G" terminal. The "X" terminal is not used.
I then wired a short cord that has a standard trailer 30A receptacle on one end connected to the plug that came with the generator on the other so that I could plug my trailer in (as seen in the photos) with hot, neutral, and ground wired accordingly.
I understand that later models of the PowerPro now have a 240V/30A receptacle with a switch that switches between 240V and 120V making my modification no longer necessary (can anyone confirm this?).

Yeah, I've been using it for a couple of seasons, and many miles, now and it's time for a little TLC, but it definitely serves its purpose. It's really nice to have that A/C when we're in the hot desert areas while boondocking.

I'm still planning to cover the exhaust section with exhaust tape (the kind used for motorcycles) which should bring the internal operating temperature from the current 140 degrees F to less than 100 degrees F.
