Make my drink a 'pink squirrel', start rapping about duvet covers and you can count me in!!!
Will do. I have some ideas on how to remove that bath tub to make room for the bidet.
Wow, Calif Queen's, Bidet's and Pink Squirrel's, what kind of sheets did you need ???? :>)

Erickson Retractable Tie Downs

Erickson Manf. has a new tie down that is retractable. Winds itself up. Anyone here have them or have experience with them. They look pretty cool.

RE: RV Electrical Plug in Toy Hauler???

The female receptacle is the output from your generator. So to charge your batteries or run any 120v device, you have to plug your shore power plug into that outlet.
dedmiston is correct, just plug it in and leave it. The only time you would have to unplug it is when your plugged into shore power or storing the hauler for a while.

RE: WW Repairs

Tried to scan the 40 pages for a definite answer....but want to confirm. I am looking at purchasing a 2007 FS2300. If I understand correctly, the 2007 should not have the frame issues, but can have the leaking roof issue? Any other items to be aware of?
Going to check out the unit today.
I really appreciate any info/assistance.
Thank you!
2007 should not have the frame issue. Measure the thickness of the tongue steel it should 3/16 thick. haven't heard of the leaking roofs but just have the guy run his water hose on it for 10 minutes while your inside looking at it.

RE: Weekend Warrior finds a New Home

The Super Lites are only walk on in the front.
And that is even questionable. When I climbed up on the roof and sat in the luggage area, (why do they all have these, does anyone actully use their luggage rack?) to replace a few of the luggage bar braces (after MDW hit a low lying tree branch) that area flexed alot. If you decide to walk on that part I would keep it to a minimum.

RE: Got a new WW and need help

If you have a FS 2500 it is a SL (super lite) which has a 30 amp service. The 50 amp came on the wide body WW.
1. When just parked ??? Not sure what you are asking
2. When out and no hook ups - Trailer needs to be plugged into power outlet in the power compartment for the 12V light switches, water pump, etc. to work
3. When out with full hook ups - plug into 30 amp service, every thing should run off of that, and no you don't use the generator when your plugged in to shore power. ;>)

RE: Time for a New TV

If they only made an f350 with the cummins motor and the allison trans, that would be the ultimate truck, I'm a ford guy but after seeing friends have so many problems with the 6.0 and test driving them all I bought the duramax(way faster too), mines been in the shop a few times in 40k for minor stuff and a clunky steering which they have fixed 3 times. The new Ford is much better and the 2011 will have even a bigger better engine not made by Navistar made by Ford, I like my duramax but niether the GM or Dodge is as tough a truck as the super duty, they finally made the interior nice too. they are all good but the GM 2500-3500 is still the same frame since 01 with a new body, I'm not sure about the dodge, look at it this way, have you ever seen a GM or Dodge ambulance or paramedic vehicle, most all 1- 1 1/2 ton emergency service vehicles are Ford, Like I said the cummins rocks and Dodge does have that super king cab but I still think the Ford is the strongest built truck. I'm not sure if I'd buy another GM only for the fact as its "gubment motors" now but the duramax allison is a great combo the frame/suspension needs some updating and the new chevy versions 2500-3500 are ugly in the front end. 3 weeks ago I dropped my truck off at the dealer for a bad EGR valve, I picked it up and saw a new super duty in the service line, I asked the head service manager "do you guys work on Fords now?" he answered no thats mine! I laughed, he works at the GM dealer and his wife works at a Ford dealer, Wife wont drive a Ford and he only drives Fords.
I agree, if they had a Truck with a Ford body, Cummins motor and Allison that would be the ultimate. We had a friend who went through 3 turbo's on his Ford 6.0, and another one who went through three trannies. The Chevy/GMC with the Allison would be my pick. Quicker, quieter, and good pulling power.

RE: No more toyhauler.... time to downsize

Ya a cab over camper probably would be good for one or two people. Especially the newer ones with the slide outs. The price of them is what I don't get. How can they charge so much for them.

RE: Watch a toy hauler getting built

I've been to Warrior lifestyles and yes they do have an inclosed building for the fabrication. Go to their web site and you can see some of it. Their web site also shows a new frame for new 25 footer they are are planning. I for one think smaller shops are better than the larger prodution types. I think that was one of WW down falls. Smaller shops have better quality control. If we were ever in the market for a new one I think I would consider them.

RE: Watch a toy hauler getting built

Wow! Lots of negativity, I guess a lot of people bought some "Bad" WW's. Thanks for posting the link. I, for one, enjoy seeing any trailer being built. We usually only see the finished product, and these videos (There are more to click on that page) give us end users some ideas how they are put together (poorly or otherwise). Thanks for showing us a link I probably wouldn't have found otherwise. Different strokes for different folks.

RE: Who makes a Lite-Weight 5W TH ?

We've been looking around for a couple of months now and it's down to a Forest River Shockwave F28SK/Sandstorm 2935SLR or a Attitude F28AKG. Capacities are similar so now it's down to quality and price. Any input from anyone who has owned either brand ?
When we were lookimg for ours back in 2006 Attitude was the best bang for the buck. They came with everything for a really good price especially if you bought it from Carls Acres of Trailers. The deal breakers were the interior colors and exterior graphics, Really ugly, but they improved a lot now. The weight was heavier than WW to. I'm thinking they may still have the most for the least. Thought the quality was good but not great.

RE: RZR crossways in Raptor?

Thanks guys, I'd thought about the wheel dollies but wasn't sure if I had room to turn it after I got it in. I wondered about bringing it up mostly sideways and putting one end in first but it looks like the math works against me. Thinking maybe going to HDT and putting the RZR on the truck and the RT-S in the Raptor. Be cheaper than buying a new toy hauler! The RT-S is 60" at the front, I'm not sure about the back but it is pretty wide. It just doesn't look like its gonna work.
Dwight
Note: I have the standard RZR, it's 50 inches wide.
Thats right 50" wide not 60 like I said.

RE: Best USA Made 12 Volt Batteries

I did do some additonal research on Interstate Batteries and it does look as though they are made in China. Written on the box when you get them. They do have a lot of buisness here in the US with distribution and sales and such which does employee a few thousand. I still e-mailed them and and will be reminding Gibbs and Bush they are supporters of China labor.
Thanks all for your help.
FWIW, I checked the batteries I bought for the diesel a couple years ago and they display "Made in Mexico". I hadn't noticed it before because I always figured Interstates were American made..
As a side comment I don't use 6 volts because batteries should be
replaced in pairs so when one of a group goes bad I use the other in a vehicle that only gets used for short trips. It saves spending big bucks for a new one that gets used about once a month.
That's just great. Mexico, China, anywhere but US !! We'll see if Interstates replys to my e-mail.

RE: Best USA Made 12 Volt Batteries

still don't understand why you don't upgrade to 6v batteries, will cost a bit more but the capacity and life expectancy is much better. Can't say for certainty but I would think there is a payback.
X2 I couldnt make it through the night with my 12s.......
We make it through the night with the heater switching on and off with enough power to start the gen in the AM. Have done this several times with the the batteries we have now.
Everyone, I really didn't want to start the hole 12V verses 6V battery debate again. Just looking for a better/good 12V battery is all. Thanks for everyones' help.
