RE: Gas can carry

Thanks for the ideas. One problem is with my Adventurer 90FWS camper. I don’t have access to the sides so can’t put anything in there. The idea with the hitch carrier is good but it adds more length to the overall rig that the ferry charges for. We are planning to take the Alaska ferry this coming year and want the fuel but not the extra costs. The idea from DWeikert is really good and for me practical and I'm going to look closer at that. I’m also entertaining the idea of going to the 2.5 gal cans, but carry two of them on the roof.

Gas can carry

Looking for help. I've done a search, but can't seem to find any information or ideas on how and where to mount and carry a 5 gal gas can when I'm not pulling my cargo trailer. Any and all ideas would be appreciated.

RE: testing my lance 1130 for winter service

We drove down the ALCAN last February on our way to New Mexico and the Southwest. Because of the low temps (-40) around Tok, Whitehorse and Fort Nelson we decided not to de-winterize the camper and stay in motels. But, we did carry some antifreeze for the DW just in case she needed to use the facilities. Make darn sure you carry a long enough power cable to plug in at night. We found a lot of motels had plugins but they were way off in the distance, but we were prepared. I de-winterized in Washington state.

RE: I'm making my "Alaska List" -things to see-any suggestions?

What effect will the current AK weather have on the summer? Foggier, rainier, fewer bugs? Any of you AK lurkers have any thoughts on this?
Rick
Well, I can't predict the future weather, but if last years weather is any indication we were averaging 10 degrees below normal and a little more wet. So if that tells you anything.
But as we say here in Alaska. "There is no bad weather, it's having bad equipment".:)

RE: Before and After-

Great photos, sometimes better then words So, just how easy was it to remove the bottom and get into your basement? How did you support your camper while working under it? And did you add insulation or any other modifications?
