Rain at the Rally (WIT-Orlando)

It has been raining for two days straight in Orlando at the Florida State Winnie Gators Rally. The water was up to the wheel rims and is still about 5 inches deep in the center. Over in the new MH display area the water was up to the door of one unit.

Florida State Winnie Gators Rally - Orlando, FL

The Florida State Winnie Gators Rally at the Central Florida Fair Grounds in Orlando Florida starts tomorrow morning and it looks like almost everyone is already here. Any RV.net members attending? I am in space E115. All you have to do is figure out the numbering system! :)

RE: The old girl is back - where to start

I used a plastic from a defunct credit card to push the material right into the edge and then used a carpet knife with a brand new blade to trim right up to the edge. You can get a wide plastic putty knife with a handle from the hardware store that would be easier to used because is gives you something to grip.
Do you really think that it is necessary to staple the edges? won't the moldings hold them well enough?

RE: Garmin 1490t....your review?

I can't get PIO's to work on mine. It says that I have loaded over 1,000 of them but it can't seem to list or display them. I also can not relocate a waypoint by dragging and dropping. My old 720 worked a lot better.

RE: Squirrel hunting, redneck style

You have to be a redneck to understand.
I don't get it ether.Maybe you just have to have gone hunting sometime in your life to get it. :)

RE: Winegard...WINGMAN????

Mine doubled the signal strength and channels received the first time I used it but aiming is critical. I gave one to my brother for his Airstream and discovered that it can not be mounted on an Airstream due to the antenna rest bracket needed because of the roof curvature. For me it was some of the best money I ever spent.

Disassemble Roadmaster Sterling Towbar

Several members have mentioned disassembling their Roadmaster Sterling towbar for complete cleaning and removal of dirt and oil (yes, I know that oil should not be used on it) but no one has described the disassembly procedure. Can someone give me the procedure? I have the Voom RV Cleaner and silicone spray for cleaning and lubricating and I know that the plastic bushings present a problem and may have to be replaced.

RE: What is 100 Amp Service?

Although I have worked with electrical equipment since 1957 and have designed systems since 1979, I will not give advice on AC systems. The main reason is that it is so easy to misunderstand what is said and to do the wrong thing. The results can be fatal in many instances. In others they can only cause equipment damage. Unless you completely understand what you are doing, it is best to seek out professional help. This may be a little off topic but I once paid a lot for professional help to setup a 3-phase load protected switch for a motor and the professional had never see one and didn't even arrive with an amp meter. I finally had to buy my own amp meter and calculate the heater sizes to use and figure out how to wire the thing up with the help of the supplier and distributer.

RE: If you have to buy for a hard to buy for person.....

I have one in my Jeep that looks better and I couldn't have paid more then $5.00 for it or I wouldn't have bought it.

RE: Unusual Things People Camp With

How about a bobcat! Yes, a bobcat!!! He had a nylon harness and leash. I was quite uncomfortable! He just sat there and stared down one of our dogs.Neat! I want one to have the biggest, meanest cat on the block. However, a Geoffrey's Cat would be much better.

RE: New Format

A couple of the other portals are still 'the old way'. So far....Maybe we could have a paid membership portal without the ads. I would join for a reasonable membership fee.

RE: Would you miss Saturday home mail delivery?

I would miss Saturday delivery. I either receive or mail a package every Saturday. When I was a kid the mail was hand delivered to your door twice a day by the bicycle mailman.

RE: Front door on DP limiting the view?

Neither the front door nor the TV limit my view as the driver; however, I get a lot of complaints from my passenger about the view out the right side because of the screen on the door and the curtain on the window behind the door.

RE: Garmin Nuvi 1350

USB is a standard. Any power supply with a USB plug will charge your Garmin. I use my cell phone charger on my Nuvi 1490.
