RE: St. Augustine Florida RV Parks

Anastasia SP is one of our absolute favs...you do have a short drive(and I do mean short) to the beach, but it is wonderful!! We"ve stayed in the Coquina Loop...Cannot say enough good things about this park...be sure to check out Saltwater Cowboy's restaurant while down there....absolutely fantastic!!! Kinda jealous now...this is not on our vacation destinations for the summer....we"re headed to Ft, Clinch and St. George Islan....hope you enjoy

Fernandina Beach and St. George Island

We will be spending one week at each of these locations this summer and we would love to find some good seafood restuarants in these areas. We prefer local joints that are family friendly and places with historical significance, any and all suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

Looking for a nice family oriented campground in this area, would prefer to be by the water somewhere but it's not critical. Thanks.

RE: Anastasia State Park?

Have to second Anastasia SP...BEAUTIFUL!!! Our last time we were there, we did stay in the Coquina Loop...the beach is wonderful...Trader Joe's is a great little beach store with good food and some great T-shirts...there are so many things to do in St. Augustine...lots of great restaraunts...the fort...we even did a horse carriage ride that took us around the college and back streets...that was really neat also...we're thinking about including Anastasia again in our trip this summer...enjoy!!

RE: st andrews

We were at St. Andrew's about 2 years ago...loved our campsite at St. Andrew's....we were right on the bay and could fish off the rocks...the beach however, was a different story...the "kiddie pool" was dirty...there were water bottles, diapers, and other garbage floating around...when we went over to the beach side, more of the same...we love Florida SP's, but this is one we will not go back to...you will Topsail...absolutely beautiful...we also stayed at Grayton Beach last year...loved it too...be sure to check out the events going on in Watercolors and Seascapes...these are little towns just down the road...they have an outdoor auditorium area where they had concerts and movies...and lots of wonderful little restaraunts and shops...we're thinking about trying out Ft. Clinch and going to Anastasia SP again...

RE: Blue Ridge Parkway

We stayed at Bear Den campground near Spruce Pine a couple of years ago and loved it. Great campground nestled into the woods with trails to walk and a fishing pond.

RE: Anybody have any pictures of the new loop at Grayton Beach?

I don't have any pics but I can tell you it looked pretty nice in July. All the sites were well laid out but there is going to be very little shade until the trees mature. The loop is paved and the sites are gravel. I would be happy with any of the sites excluding the one nearest the dumpster, just my preference.

Port St Joe & Grayton Beach - just returned

Just returned from these two parks...loved them both...if you're looking for a relaxing place...Port St. Joe is the place to be...we went beach fishing, pier fishing, and did a shark fishing trip on our last night there...Grayton is such a quaint community...loved the Seaside area...live bands and movie nights....little specialty trailers set up along the sidewalks...cocktails...taco bar...and a bar-b-q place...yummmm...anyways...it would be hard to top this trip of places to go...although we are thinking of Topsail for next year...

RE: Anastasia SP St Augustine FL

LOVE this park!!! It has become one of our absolute favorites! Last time we were there we stayed in the Coquina loop...plenty of space for us...did have a few mosquitoes. Be sure to check out Saltwater Cowboys while you're down there. It's an excellent restaurant serving local seafood (I had never had grits until I tried them here...restaurant...loved them!!) Highly recommend a horse drawn carriage ride thru downtown...really neat...my kids loved it!! Just can't say enough about this area or St. Augustine....
