RE: Cherrystone?

You might want to check the reviews on this site I just cancelled our annual August vacation there after going for every year for 17 years. There have been a lot of negative changes there.

RE: Cherrystone Has Hit Rock Bottom...

Been going to Cherrystone every year for a week since 1992 but no more. We have observed it deteriorating and the golf carts are out of control. But based on everyone's recent experience and also just a continuing fear of our vacation being ruined, I cancelled our August vacation for next year this week. All I got was, "There will be a 15 dollar cancellation fee". Customer service is very important in today's world. Without it, there will be a lot of unsatisfied campers. Us included.

Anyone here a member? Any yays or nays? Never really thought about it until recently. Seems I am seeing and staying in more and more of these parks.

RE: Ants, Ants, and more Ants

We tried all of the above methods here in our stick house but this is the only way we could get rid of them. We used sugar, borax and water. We took a cotton ball and moistened it with the solution and let it sit in the caps of jars all around the baseboard of the room they were in. Within a week or two, they were gone! Good Luck!

RE: Impossible to find please help

Check with area RV dealers. They often have their own dump stations. Ditto

RE: New TT and wanna take the family out this weekend!!

With all of the rain we have had this week in NC, I would hesitate to take a TT out with kids when the forecast is for more rain. I know how you feel though. It would be tough to wait another week.

RE: All American Coach in Ohio

Are you buying used or new? I dickered with four Tiffin dealers, three of them on new 08 leftovers. The first wasn't dealing much (they later had the same MH significantly reduced) the other two including All American were close in price but lousy trade-in offers. That's when I realized that I needed to find a used FRED chassis MH. The one I found had been traded against a new Phaeton and was only 15 months old - had 24,000 mi on it but its a diesel so no big deal. I made them an offer - my trade and x dollars, which they countered and I stuck to my numbers and they said no so I told them I was walking away. They called me back and took my offer. I figured they had the wiggle room and they still made money on the deal. I also paid on on line web site to give me a wholesale price for my old MH so I knew what they (the dealer) would be looking at - you can't believe the NADA books online. I hope this helps you. This sounds like good info. This is a used Phaeton we are looking at. We have not called them yet. What is the web site that you used to give you a wholesale price for your old coach? I might would be interested in doing the same. Our coach is a little different as we had a full body paint done on it. So for the year, 02, it has a full body paint. Does this website take things like this into consideration as far as pricing? Thanks

RE: All American Coach in Ohio

Thanks for feedback. We have already tried 2 dealers on a trade on a Tiffin. They want to give us virtually nothing for ours and that is a no go with us. I know what this thing will sell for and may try to sell it ourselves first before shopping again.

Does anyone have any experiences with purchasing a Class A from these people? Looking for some feedback. Thanks.

RE: Myrtle Beach Campgrounds

Terryallan I am thinking of taking 74 off of 95 to 410,701,9,31,22 to MBTP is this a good way to go with a 35' MH. ???? :h Thank You George & Joni We just came back today. The best way to go is to take 74 off of i-95 to SR410 (Joe Brown Rd). Follow this all the way to 701 South. Then take 22 East to Kings Rd. It will literally dump you at the campground. Do not take Hwy 9. It is too far out of the way. We live in NC and have been going to MBTP this way for quite some time. If you are using a GPS, the new HWY 74 exit is not on there. Just follow the signs. You will be ok.

RE: Myrtle Beach Campgrounds

We are here right now at MBTP right now. We are leaving tomorrow and there are plenty of open available sites. Most available sites are not ocean front but there is not a bad site in this park! Have fun. I wish I could stay here longer. Love this place. Sigh...

RE: Extended Warranty to expire ..... Suggestions?

Call these people. We have them and this warranty has paid for itself many times over. I know people have said, "bank the money and then use it to cover repairs". This would not have worked for us.

We had been ordering the sauce from them for 6 years and finally had a chance to visit them in August. We were not disappointed in their BBQ. It was great! You gonna make us guess where it is? Apparently so. LOL Oh noes!! Arrgh! Can't believe I did it! :S Center Point is in Hendersonville, TN.

RE: Pathetic Salesman

I have a 40 ft. DP that I bought new and have owned for more than six years. If you ask me about the frame construction of my unit, I too would not have a clue. I can tell you how the slides work. You press one end of the rocker switch to go out and the opposite end to go in. But, then again, I was much more interested in buying what I wanted rather than " close to being serious" when I originally bought mine. The salesman who sold me the unit did know a couple of very important things. He knew where the keys were and he knew where a dealer tag was so I could drive it. He also knew how to introduce me to the sales manager to give me the answer to my offer and he knew how to take my money when I paid for it. After six years of ownership, I have found no reason to know what the frame construction is and really could care less how the slides work as long as they go in and out. I really wonder how the majority of people would stack up if the general public could just willy/nilly come by their job, observe, and then grade their performance on the internet? All of this anonymously and basically without recourse or response from the person being graded. I guess that is where the difference is between me and you. I really care about if I have hydraulic hoses or electric slides. Especially if you have a hose to blow while dry camping and there is hydraulic fluid all over the ground! Maybe it was your coach I bought because you didn't know you had a leaking hydraulic hose. All I am saying is one thing. This experience did not leave my with a good feeling. The coach was very dirty and obviously neglected. And I repeat something I have said before. This is the very last time I will be the OP on a thread. Moderator, please close this thread before I lose it.

RE: Pathetic Salesman

Sheesh! Give the guy a break. Did he lie to you? Did he mislead you? Was he polite? Maybe he was brand new and is just learning the business. Yes, he's learning OJT. Does the dealer hold part of the blame for not getting him better training, yes. But to post it here, is shameful. I would bet once upon a time, you had a new job, I for one, would have been more understanding. At least he's not drawing unemployment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know, I almost didn't make this posting for being afraid of the exact response such as this. Yes, I could assume he was new on the job but if he truly did not know, then he could have said, well, I don't know but I will be glad to find out for you. What other kind of questions do you have. But this was not the case. I read this forum daily even if I don't post. But I will sure think twice in the future before posting again!

Pathetic Salesman

Found this while searching the other day. Since we were going to be down here on vacation and close to this dealer, we decided to swing by to "take a look". Had to get the salesman to unlock the door to let us in to look around. Now, mind you, we are close to being "serious" about trading, or buying. But how would this guy know this unless he asked? The 2 comments made to us voluntarily was, Do you have a motorhome now? and it is a buyers market right now. When questioned about the how the slide mechanisms worked, he was clueless and stuttered and got red faced. When asked about the frame construction, once again he was clueless. He did mention this was a "leftover" 08. There was water on the floor in the bath area. He immediately went and got a service tech to take a look at it, which is good. All in all, this has left a bad taste in my mouth. Wish it could have been more positive.

RE: time for opinions

We installed this and have been very happy with it. Dumping is so easy now! Wound up tapping power at the batteries since it was the shortest distance and easiest accessible route from the compartment for power. Wire was routed through existing channels over axle and and transmission. Crawled under coach and got greasier than a monkey! Never been that dirty! Had to rotate the discharge connection to point downward for this to dump properly. That was easy after making sure tanks were empty.
