RE: Is it possible to use laptop to watch tv ?

Another alternative is Slingbox.
This hardware/software package lets you remotely control your home receiver and watch what you would be viewing at home wherever internet is available. We got this as a gift a few years ago and have used it on the road - mostly successfully.
It is a bandwidth hog and most RV parks probably would not appreciate you loading up their wi-fi, but if they don't ask and you don't tell you should be o-k.

RE: Odd experience at camping world

Sounded like you were describing the anode in my w/h. I wouldn't even know what it looked like if the past winter hadn't been so blessed cold. First time I've ever considered anything like winterizing.
I've been trying to decide whether to replace it or not, so I'll be watching your replies.
Thanks for posting.

RE: Yellowstone Wildlife Spotting Scope Questions

You might also considerYellowstone Wildlife Tour.
Knowledgeable guide from the non-profit Yellowstone Association - spotting scopes provided and they know the best places to look.
Whether you plan to buy your own scope or not, this is a good deal.

RE: KALISPELL MONTANA

You might also consider Hungry Horse. It is closer to the park than Kalispell and has several campgrounds with good reviews. We stayed at Mountain Meadows in 2008 and liked it. Wi-fi didn't reach our campsite, but hosts invited me to set up on the patio and even offered to provide me with an extension cord.

RE: insecure or inconsiderate

...And oh! We have a swimming pool! Do you have any idea how absolutely awesome it is to have a swimming party in the DARK under a full moon!
Without swimsuits!?!?! :B :B :B
Beat me to it...:W
It is POSSIBLE to skinny dip in daylight, but I find that the older we get the less attractive the prospect becomes - for a variety of reasons. :E :B :E :B

I really do have Hawks

Back in January, AZPOPS posted This with a great picture of a hawk.
Back then, I told about a nesting pair I watch from my back door, and expected to post a picture within a day or two.
The hawks have not cooperated!
First, they haven't spent any time at all on the nest. For over a month now, they'll drop off a mouse or a frog about dawn and take off for parts unknown.
Second, even if I could catch them at dawn, I would be shooting into the rising sun.
Anyhow, I have wasted hours trying to get a picture of those darn birds.
I don't know why, but mom finally decided to spend some time on the nest today, and I finally got a picture: http://i653.photobucket.com/albums/uu259/bcouch01/momonnest2-1.jpg width=600

RE: Driving with limited vision

Talk about a vision check - I have been actively participating in this post (replied twice) and just realized the title of the post is Diving with limited vision!
I don't dive any more, but still have my PADI card.
Vision while diving is always limited by the condition of the water.:B :B :B

RE: Driving with limited vision

bobcouch ~~ I lost my right eye over thirty years ago ~ did NOT give up my keys. Are you intimating that One Eyed People should not be allowed to drive????
Not at all.
But patching one eye does change perception (been there, done that) so you better be aware of the differences. Anyone used to seeing through two eyes will have a learning curve to deal with.

RE: Keystone Fuzion - slides take 5 time before they go in? Help

It is probably a weak circuit breaker......I believe you will find that you have one for moving out and one for moving in....It also seems to take more power to move slides in than out.....When the weather is warm they will work easier also.:)
I agree your problem is probably a breaker, mine was when I had the same symptom.
You probably have two of these:
http://i653.photobucket.com/albums/uu259/bcouch01/breaker-30a.jpg
Mine mount on the bulkhead between the battery and the slideout pump - one is on the positive and one on the negative side of the pump. They are cheap, under $5.00, replace them both.

RE: Driving with limited vision

Why not put a patch over one eye? When that eye gets tired move the patch to the other eye. ;)
That would solve the double vision, but you need two eyes to have any depth perception. Not a great solution.

RE: RV Park ratings - Woodalls and Good Sam

Reminds me of the Grouch Marx quote "I DON'T WANT TO BELONG TO ANY CLUB THAT WILL ACCEPT ME AS A MEMBER."
Just because a park rates all 10's in Trailer Life (or all 5"s in Woodall's) doesn't mean it is somewhere great to stay.
Our one experience with one of these parks (on the list again this year) was terrible. The place was beautiful, but so is a mausoleum!
Nobody sat outside of their RV's, nobody cooked outside, nobody talked to their neighbors - creepiest place we ever stayed.

RE: Need campsite near Lake Travis, Austin, TX

Thanks for the info to all that replied.
Bobcouch- Emma Long looks nice. I don't think they take reservations. What do you think are my chances of getting a site with electric if we arrive on a Sunday afternoon on the last weekend in June?
You should have a pretty good chance - somebody is bound to be leaving on a Sunday afternoon.
It is a popular place, we stayed there one Labor day weekend, and the only way we got a site was that our son-in-law hauled our camper over earlier in the week.

RE: e-mailed Picture Not Viewable

It has been processed and sent in a format that your Mac doesn't recognize. Google for a program that will allow you to open the pic in whatever format it was sent in. For instance, you cant open a .doc if it comes to you in .xls format unless you have the means to convert it to a .doc file. Usually you simply download an .xls viewer to open the file. Have them resend it in a .JPG format and see if you can open it.....Dennis
I've recently noticed the same problem. Usually w/forwarded emails and/or emails from phones. I'm using Outlook 2010. What viewer do I need?

No useful suggestions, just wanted to say howdy.
Nice to see someone else named Couch posting on the forum even if it is because of a problem.
Hopefully, it's nothing too serious, but you should definitely get it corrected.

RE: Ladder Safety - Please Read

June 1st, six years ago I was at the top of a 20 foot extension ladder when it slipped. I woke up on the ground, tangled in the ladder, with a severe (total) dislocation of my left elbow, a fractured left ankle and a crushed talus (heel) bone. Doctors told me I could not put any weight at all on the foot for the entire summer and with the condition of my arm, I could not use crutches.
A good friend's next-door-neighbor built me a contraption that looked something like
http://i653.photobucket.com/albums/uu259/bcouch01/Untitled-1copy.jpg
Sorry for the crude drawing, I can't find any photos anywhere. Anyway, it attached to my leg at the thigh and the calf, had a spring-loaded ankle and a Reebok tennis shoe. It looked a little crude (redneck engineering) but it worked great; I walked around on the thing all summer, and the Docs at the orthopedic center wanted to know if it was patented. I told the inventor that they said he should patent the thing, but don't know whether he ever tried.
I recovered full use of my arm, although it won't quite straighten out entirely. I wear a small lift in my left shoe and I can predict the weather but otherwise I'm fine.
The wife won't let me near a ladder unless she's holding the bottom.

RE: Campground recommendations

Stayed at Capilano for a couple nights in summer of 08.
Nice enough park, fairly centrally located and within walking distance of a nice mall.
Their website says "Internet Connection" on several pages. Silly me, I thought this was Canadian for WiFi available. Turned out to be one PC in the office lobby. I don't know if they charged to use it, since it was never available when I stopped by.
