RE: Atwood water heater issue-need help please

Do you smell carbon monoxide, or propane. Makes a difference as to what you are fixing. You can't smell CO2. It is odorless. If you are smelling something it most probably is the odor substance they put in propane because the propane itself is also odorless. How old are your gas tanks. As they get older the odor material builds up and can cause it to smell more than necessary in normal use. Then you need to have them purged.

RE: Quick Roof

The edges of my roof have a seal on them right now from the factory which cover little screws, if i put eternalbond down, i have heard you cannot get it back up. How do you get to those screws if you ever need too?You don't have to remove it, just go through it.

RE: Quick Roof

Another vote for Eternabond!

RE: What size breaker with 14-2 wiring?

Simple rule that has been around for many years: F = F and T = T. #Fourteen wire = Fifteen Amps #Twelve wire = Twenty Amps

RE: PD converter as a cable locating device

It is interesting that my motor home has a 9180 with charge wizard It also has a Kenwood TS-2000, actually hooked to the same 12 volt lines. And I can not tell any difference when I switch off the breaker for the converter Ditto here. PD9145, TS2000 w/CW, no problems. It also showed no problems on my IC700mk2G, back when I still had it. Sounds like a loose ground.

RE: 6000 watt generator

It will be a lot cheaper to buy it now than to upgrade later after you find out that it isn't big enough for that big whiz-bang gismo you just had to add! LOL

RE: What's wrong with a home-kitchen microwave?

The difference is that RV microwaves are vented out the front. You may have trouble with a rear vented microwave that is installed in a compartment. IMO this is the correct answer. We found it true when we checked ours. If you check all that is available, you will find that there are top vented, side vented, back vented, and front vented microwave ovens. Front vented are made for use in tight fitting built-in installations, for both RVs and stick-built homes.

RE: What's wrong with a home-kitchen microwave?

Read this it may help you make your decision. And it may not! Dometic may have special microwaves built for RV use, I however, doubt that they are any different from standard home micros. I have been in the Kitchen Industry for over 40 years and I know that Dometic does not build any micros themselves. They only have one of the standard manufacturers build them with the Dometic brand on it. I do know that the Micro that came in my MH is listed in the catalog as one of several models available for regular home use. OBTW, all brands of microwave ovens are built by one of only 3 manufacturers.

RE: What's wrong with a home-kitchen microwave?

For a kit that will fit any microwave oven to any cabinet (as long as it is smaller than the opening) try this: http://www.microtrim.com/ MicroTrim is a custom maker of trim kits for any micro.

RE: WHY NOT ?

I don't know what to tell you but I have been using a pair of HF switches for 5 years. One on chassis 12V and one on house battery pair of 6V. Keeping them clean might help. JMHO!

RE: 12 Volt lighting slow to lite

You need better quality electricity. That what you get when you buy cheap stuff. Where did he say a brand name or state cheap equipment? He said the "Electricity was Cheap" not the equipment. OBTW, Where do you find "Cheap Electricity"? LOL!

RE: House Batteries??

You should buy what you think is the best value for you. As for me, My ELEVEN YEAR OLD Trojan T-105s have proven their value to me!

RE: Best State for DL, Registration, and Property Txes

Don't know about all of Tennessee, but in Hamilton County (Chattanooga), you can renew your drivers license and tag online. The motorhome is exempt from the emissions inspection. The tag for the motorhome is the same as for a car, $24/year. There is no income tax and no property tax on cars or on the motorhome. The sales tax is very high, but you will not have to pay that. Something to check before you make your final selection. I do not know about Tenn, but many states make you pay the difference between the amount of the sales tax you paid in the state you purchased the vehicle and the amount of the tax you would have paid in the new state.

RE: Best State for DL, Registration, and Property Txes

I too want to know which state would allow an Old F**T like me to renew without an eye test. Just to remind me to stay clear of it! LOL!!

RE: Digital Video Recorder

A lot of vehicles have hard drives in their nav/entertainment units these days. The last time I looked, the hard drives said something like "Warranty void if drive experiences shocks in excess of 300G". Your warranty will be void if you experience a shock in excess of 300G... The most that a jet fighter pilot can stand is approx 9Gs so I'm sure that your warranty will be void at 300Gs! LOL! 9Gs Means that a 150# man would have the apparent weight of 1350#. At 300Gs he would weigh 45,000#. 0r your 5# DVR would have the apparent weight of 1,500#. Better example from my AF days: C-119 (2 engine recip - prop plane) encountered turbulence on approach over Santa Susana Pass during final to Van Nuys, CA. A couple of guys had been standing in the cockpit behind the pilot & copilot enjoying the view. JC Yep, Been there, Done that! Treading air after walking backward down the ladder from the cockpit of a 119 over St Louis on trip from Peterson AFB, Colo Spgs to Clinton Co AFB in Ohio.

RE: Batwing blocking signal for Kingdome

Never had the problem but then I never saw a need for the BatWing when the Dish was receiving. Small town local TV stations seldom impress me. LOL!

Good Sam is only a re-selling agent. The insurance company is GMAC Insurance. Personally I don't care for GMAC. JMHO!

RE: Extending battery life by extraordinary measures

My (2) T-105's came new with my Bounder when it was built in April 1998. That makes them 12 years old this coming April. They are still going strong. I have never done anything except keeping them filled with Distilled Water and charged with a good 3 stage converter (PD9145 with a Charge Wizard) that also came with the Bounder in 98. My point is, "Extraordinary Measures" on "Good Batteries" are not needed with a good converter, distilled water and regular maintenance! JMHO!

RE: Why is every thread concerning weapons closed early?

The OP just wanted to know "Do most RV'ers carry...." A simple yes or no would suffice, but everyone wants to put in their perceived application of the laws, and their political viewpoint. The problem is that every yes or no answer is connected to your screen name and profile. I would prefer that no one knows!
