RE: Indiana Flying J Fuel Price

It's tax law, not the Flying J. Just don't buy fuel in Indiana, that's how I get around that problem.

RE: No service road service

I talked with service provider and asked him about who from the vendor standpoint was best to deal with, he stated Good Sam. Said they will put their calls in front of service calls from others such as AAA, Coach Net. So far when needed, GS came through for us.

RE: Cold weather RVing

That water bay blower will keep it warm and toasty down there. I have a remote thermometer down there and when it's in the teens outside, my water bay is in the 70s.

RE: Cold weather RVing

As mentioned, your Newmar should have a furnace vent in the water bay. My '03 Dutch Star even has a fan to force the air down there when it's really cold (<25) and keeps it about 70. Turn on your furnace and check in your water bay to see if you feel the heat coming in. My fan switch is in the bathroom, but I think on newer models they discontinued the fan since the heat was adequate without it. My bays stay warm as long as the furnace is used.

RE: KOA Work Kamper Program

I also sent a note to KOA when they announced their changes to charge for monitoring their jobs. Haven't signed up since the change. They do have a large amount of KOA jobs posting on their site, but our first and only experience working at KOA wasn't the greatest so we are staying with Workamper as a single source.

RE: Bristol Fall Race is a sell-out

There are tickets available below face value around here. Never was that way until they resurfaced the track and took Bristol out of Bristol. People will end up eating some tickets, so don't pay over face value, there are others available and not really a bad seat in the house. We've had season tickets since 1990 and will let them go back this year. Too diffucult to sell them after Bruton holds on to your money for about 8 months.

RE: Just removed Diamond Shield film from 2004 DSDP

I didn't have Diamond Shield on my 2001 DSCA and had a couple of paint chips after 45K miles, but nothing to get upset about. My 2003 DSDP has the Diamond Shield that is showing mildue around the edges. When I take mine off, I'm going naked and if needed I think we could find a paint job for that area below the windshield for a decent price. Real disappointed in the Diamond Shield and wouldn't do that again.

We've never had problems. Stayed there when in Music City for the past 6-7 years.

There's a Wal-Mart near Homestead that we passed this past winter, was full of RVs doing just what you're talking about.

Don't think it's there anymore, but you might give Spring Lake a try. Off exit #322 in Crossville.

RE: Remco Drive Shaft Coupler

Had one on a 2001 GMC pickup. Worked very well, installation was done by my brother and I, with him doing most of it. No ill effects on the truck, did disengage a couple of times when I went over a railroad track, but nothing to worry about. Trick is to learn how to re-engage, but just takes a little practice. Overall, was very pleased and if need be, would do it again.

I suggest Deer Creek Resort in Galax. Just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, higher elevation for a little cooler temperature.
