RE: Handi-Vac freezer bags, where to find refills?

I can't find them at Wal*Mart anymore, unless they are someplace other than the plastic bag/wrap aisle. Does anybody know who still sells them? I did buy a box of the Ziploc vacuum freezer bags that use a hand pump to remove the air but haven't tried them yet. Does the Handi-Vac battery operated pump work on those?
Thanks, JudyYES! The Handy Vac works on those too.....I also have the hand pump and it works well also.

RE: I need recipe for a ( Zuccni casserole)

This recipe was really AWESOME and so simple to make! A GREAT way to get rid of extra zucchini! :)
3 cups zucchini, shredded
1 cup carrots, shredded
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 pkg. Stove Top stuffing (chicken flavor)
1 stick butter, melted
1 cup sour cream
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
Mix all ingredients together. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes covered
and 15 minutes uncovered.
Enjoy!
JulieAs soon as I saw the topic, I thought of this one....We tried it when it was first posted and LOVED it!......Even my PICKY 13 y.o. daughter liked it!

RE: Corned beef and cabbage

My briskets are also in the fridge, all spiced up and being turned twice every day. How do you do that?....How do you MAKE corned beef?.....I would love to try a "homemade" one!
I bought 4 store bought ones.....I LOVE corned beef and cabbage but can't justify spending 12-13 bucks on one.......They go on sale this time of year and I only paid 4-6 bucks for them......3 are in my freezer :B:B and one is in the fridge waiting to go into the crockpot Weds!

RE: Go San Francisco Card

The "city pass" is good for 7 days and USED to include Alcatraz......I see now that Alcatraz is no longer included but a bay cruise is.....Unless you have kids in tow, a city pass may not be your best option.....
Have fun!....S.F. is one of my FAVORITE playgrounds!

Also....What is your destination? Your topic suggested Chico....If that is your destination, there are other options closer to Chico...
What is your purpose?.....Overnight, sightseeing, fishing?

RE: Woodson Bridge SRA, near Chico, California

I used to live in Corning about 10 years ago and spent a lot of time at Woodson Bridge.....The SRA does NOT have hookups and there was NEVER a person at the gate.....Even back then, before the budget cuts......HOWEVER, the SRA has always been a safe place!......Most of the locals hang out at the park across the road and never even enter the SRA.
Not sure what the trailer park across the road is like now, but when I lived there, it was somewhere I would have stayed if I needed full hook-ups.....

RE: Repeat questions

I had a great neighbor who pasted away last year - really miss him - he was in his 80's, and at his peak was a brilliant man, but was starting to loose it a little. The summer before his passing he would come out in the morning, as I was playing in the yard, before work and tell me a joke. After three straight days of telling me the same joke the fourth day he told me the same joke but asked me - did I tell you this joke before - I laughed hard and said yes the last four days but your presentation changed slightly and it is still funny. He gave me a big smile and we just laughed together for a few moments. He made my day almost everyday.
Keep asking those questions - I will answer if I can.SWEET!

RE: Why not put the Toyota in neutral?

yep!!!!!.....ALL the FRANTIC 911 calls were made by very good actors who just want to sue Toyota!....The FRANTIC, TERRIFYING call from the CHP officer was probably a just good acting job!!! He probably wanted to die so his surviving loved ones could benefit financially.......OH, Wait, his survivors didn't survive either.....Nasty trick for him to play!

RE: Catch and Release

Cant help thinking about last camping season and looking forward to this season. While lamenting about last years adventures I got to thinking about the little boy that was camping with his dad just before school started. His dad acted as though he was there because he had to be , not because he wanted to be. He pitched a tent and never left it except to get to the bath house. Having said that. the 10 yr old pestered I guess ,our camp ground neighbor. Gary looked after him because we had picked up that his folks were split up and this was his time with dad before school started. Any how Gary and his wife let the kid eat with them because the dad had only pop and cookies and cold meat for meals. This kid wanted to fish with Gary and he was happy to have him around. He had never caught a fish, much less seen one cleaned. The kid caught a 1 cat fish and Gary had 2, After supper Gary and the kid went to clean their catch. Gary pulls out the first cat, lays it on the table and slices off the fillet. The young fellas mouth dropped to the ground and his eyes got big as saucers. He flips the fish and takes the other fillet and tosses the bones to the water. The little guy says its still alive. Gary says, turtle bait, simple as that turtles gotta eat too! Gary takes the second fish from the basket, does the same thing. The little guy goes over to his basket and the next thing Gary hears is SPLASH! He turns around and he asks the boy, What did you do? The young fella looks him sqaure in the eyes and says, "You arent going to kill my fish that way! He threw it back in. I guess you had to be there but it was funny.Funny and sad at the same time!....Even though the little boy probably wished it was his dad he was fishing with, I'll bet he NEVER forgets his experience with Gary!....Good on Gary!

RE: DUI questions

Sheeesh! If we were really serious about stopping carnage caused by drunk driving we'd simply give the cops the right to park at the exit of every bar parking lot! Of course that wouldn't be politically correct though to infringe on someones right to get plastered and behind the wheel of a car without giving the cop probable cause to check him out before he commits a moving infraction! They did just that many years ago in Fort Bragg, Ca....The cops would position themselves outside the bars at closing time.....The problem was, is someone decided NOT to drive and walk home instead, the were arrested for drunk in public!....At that time there wasn't a taxi service in Ft. Bragg....
