RE: NIGHT GLOW TAPE

I bought some glow paint at a harware store (either ACE or True Value) Was going to put it on the steps, but I left it in the RV and it froze. Ended up using reflector tape. Use about 1.5 inches on the top front corners of each step. This way when you turn the porch light on you can see the end ot the black steps.

RE: 32' vs. 35'

We went from a 30 footer to a 38 footer. Rhe main differenace I noticed was making turns. With the axles back farther it's pivot point was back farther so the turn out my driveway meant I needed to pull out father in the road and move over right or left in the driveway to get over my culvert. It was a $85 lesson learned. drivers side dropped off the end of the culvert and into the ditch. Thank GOD for neighbors with big tractors.

RE: Using Skype or other program to keep in touch

I used Skype to talk to my Daughter when she went to Italy in January. We did not use the video, just audio. I was amazed in how well it worked. I'm not sure my laptop would support video, I may have to check into a camera.

RE: Storage Lot Cost

I don't pay anything to park mine, and have friends that park a TT, pontoon boat, popup and a class C at my place. Living in the country does have it's advantage.

RE: F150 with 5.4 and 3.73 or F250 with 5.4 and 4.10?

Something to check out first. The 150 has higher bed walls which may hinder getting enough clearance to pull a fith wheeel. Don't ask the salesman he'll tell you anything for the sale. You need to make sure you before you buy either the truck or the fifth wheel.

RE: Hitch choice?

If you need a flat bed floor when you pull the hitch, I reccommend the B&W under bed with the 18K companion.
I use my truck for more than pulling the Fifth wheel and need a flat floor to carry my water tank, or haul rock, dirt and mulch.

RE: New Awning

If the problemis the fabric, and the frame is ok, why not just replace the fabric? I would you money and you can install it yourself witha little help. Also if fram is ok, you won't be putting new mounting hole in you RV.

RE: Toilet question

The main thing you need to look at is the mounting bolts in the flange. Some are parallel to the wall some are 45 degrees off. I had this problem in my old fifth wheel. Some of the flanges can be turned and others are glue and can't be. My flange was glues so I had to improvise. I used a Sealand adapter kit, but found later I could have bought waht I needed at Home Depot. Part I used was the center ring that would screw to the flange in different positions, so you could reset the flange. the down side was the toilet was raised by 3/8", and would not sit flat on the floor. The kit would have worked for a Sealand butnot the one brand I had. I bought a 3/8" platic cutting board and traced the bottom of the toilet out and cut it to fit. Also had to cut thre circle for the flange. Calked it to the floor and the toileet mounted perfectly. PM me if you nee more info.

RE: 2004 6.0 L Diesel Fuel Filter Change

I second buying from International. Also do mack sure you have the correct filters, the large one has to have the white sleve on it, that seperates the water.
There is a IH dealer next to the Ford truck dealer and the fuel filters are 1/2 the price. I was talking to the counterman when I bought the last set, and I mentioned the price difference. He said that they were lower on all the parts for engine parts.

RE: Terrible weekend - need some advice.

I had to replace an internal fuse in a microway once. Also you should have keep the awning, the little reverse switch is a common problem and can be fixed.

RE: Replacing electrical cable hatch

Mike54 Nice mod. May I suggest that you fill the hinge holes where the door used to fit in, to keep bugs and water from getting behind it.

RE: headlight question?

A relay they sell for adding after market off road/ driving lights, are sold at most any auto parts store. They also make wiring kits that have the wiring and relay in one package.

RE: at&t air card

I think it it depends on hte area you travel. If you watch the ATT commercial they advertise the fastest 3G network. Verison advertises the most coverage network. That said, if you travel off the interstates and highly populated areas, I have found my verison phones and usb 760 modem has signal where others using ATT have problems. I not going to say that Verison is the fastest, but I don't do streaming video or music, so it does everything I need to do with normal downlaods that don't take very long to load.
Several at the lake we stay at have ATT and can't get a good signal, where with our Verison we have full bars.
It still depends on where you are and where you go.

RE: headlight question?

The relay upgrade will be a good choice, one other thing to do would to make sure your headlights are aimed properly. I can't rememnber exactly, but find a flat area near a wall. Pull up to 20ft away from the wall and have your headlights on. Measure from the ground to the center of your headlight. Then measure the center of the beam on the wall. I think you should have about a 2 inch drop. When doing this, or having the lights aglined by a mechanic, make sure your RV is loaded as you would normally be. You may find that when loaded the rear of the Rv drops enough to make the headlights worthless.

RE: Finding tires for My RV (size 8.00R 16.5)

If you have a Tractor Supply or other farm/ranch type store, check to see if they have the tires. It's a common size and a lot of older farm trucks use them.

RE: Adding a front platform

Well if you want a "redneck" way, buy a flat bed tralier large enough to carry both, then pull the TT on the tralier pull the wheels and axles and bolt it to the trailer, then park the ATV on the back end of the flatbed. You won't loose any resale value of the TT this way. I doubt you will add value by adding the front area. You may have to play with the weight distribution on the flatbed.
But I think a toyhauler may be the beast way to go.

RE: 1993 F-150 idle problem

Have you checked fuel pressure?
You said you found some corrided connections. Corrison can cause some real flakey problems with voltage, may also check your ground connections.
I would clean all the connections you can find, it could be that the several of the sensors are marginal with bad connections causing the problem. Just putting my 2 cents in.
