This is nothing but disgusting. Wonder what these folks would do if the penality was the olden type of an "eye for an eye"? Wonder how they would like hanging from a tree? That was what the punishment used to be.

This makes me sick, I couldn't even read it all, after seeing that picture.

Rest in Peace.

Now that arrests have been made and this is now public knowledge I am sure the outcry will be so great that we will see an end to this in Burke County. Before this story broke with pictures it didn't mean a thing to most people because they could not visualize the cruelty of it all. Now they know and can feel the pain inflected on these animals as they see that dead dog hanging by it's neck from a tree with the bite marks on its legs as they allowed other dogs to tear into its flesh as he hung there not able to run or defend itself.

I am sure when this comes to trial it will draw a lot of attention and the pressure will be on the court system and the sheriff's department to get a conviction befitting the crime.

I sure hope that the public will be aware and be outraged at the dog fighting rings

Today in court the man who moved and left two Pit Bulls chained to a tree without food and water was sentenced to one year in prison and ordered to pay Old Fella Burke County Animal Rescue $4,718 that was spent on their care

Sure a lot going on down there. A year wasn't enough, but it's a start.
So where are we on the Tribute to the 13? Are the 13 Bricks a go or are we going another way?

To my knowledge we have one brick for the 13. I have been told this was the first case of animals abuse that has gone to court in Burke County.

I was one of the first brick contributors but can't remember what the "13" story was about? Please refresh our memories so we can think about getting another one. I am pretty sure it was a tribute to something?
Thanks
