Hi Dyana. 40 or 48, I can't recall how old I am either sometimes. Too much going on to full time but I'd like to try it someday.
Rayman, you talking 16ft of snow? Going to be a wet spring. Most I recall was on the border of PA and NY when snow covered my entire front door (1992?). Had to go out the back.
Maybe I'll have a fire in the backyard tomorrow night, a little camping at home.

Remember, Jim, I'm less than ten years older than you are!
Welcome, Dyana. I agree about Western Washington! The last time I lived there was in 1970, when Boeing had the big layoff. That's when somebody supposedly put up a billboard that said "will the last person to leave Seattle, PLEASE remember to turn off the lights". I don't know if it is true, I never saw it.
When my number came up, I left, and I've never thought about going back, even though I have kids out there.

Yes in the mts of montana talked with the ranger there said they had 16 ft in higher elevations, only about 6 to 8 at the rest area. I'm no longer trucking doing the broker thing now booking loads instead of driving.
guess I'm the youngin in the crowd I'm only 47 and can't wait for the day I can become a full timer

I think the billboard was true - the big energy crisis back then. And Boeing has sure gone through it's share of layoffs since you left. Seems like every time I check the hometown paper on line, there's something about another strike or layoffs. Then they left town a couple of years ago - I don't even remember to where, but WA just didn't offer them enough fringe benefits, so they moved their headquarters. Still making planes there, but the bosses are outta there.
I love Washington - during the summer. Kind of think I won't ever live there again. Just can't take the rain and gray anymore. I can't believe that after being there my whole life I would say "nice place to visit, but I wouldn't wanna live there." We don't get the kind of snow you guys are talking about - can't even get out the door? That's just silly snow. Some days I wished for snow, just for the brightness of it. But hearing you guys? I'll stay away from the NE in the winter too!
Thanks again for the warm welcome.
Off to see what I've recorded on my DVR.

We've always lived in the mountains, (WV,VA and now NC), we love 'em.
We like all 4 seasons, though, after 50+ years on this planet, I don't believe it snows as much as it used to. It never ceases to amaze my wife and I at how far some people travel just to see fall foliage. But, I guess we've gotten to where we take some things for granted, depending on where you live. Maybe once the DW and I have retired, we'll find ourselves a "homebase" and winter in the south away from colder weather and in the summer time travel the rest of this beautiful country of ours.
Good morning to all of you, got a big pot of coffee on,(over by the microwave) and the DW made some fried apple pies...have at em'.
Hope all of you are well today and hope all of you have a great day.
Time to "walk the dogs"....catch y'all later..

My gosh, this thread has been BUSY! But, thats great. rayman, my fella goes to Lowes too. This last time Jimmy Johnson won. My daughter was estatic.she works for LOWES. she came home with all kinds of Jimmie Johnson stuff. Art parks in a field just down and across from the speedway. We go up the weekend before the race and mark off his and a couple of other peoples spots and then that group trickles in thru the week. You will have to let us know next year where you will park so we can set up a face to face. Art is a jeff gordon fan and I am an edwards fan. ( you can just imagine the rivalry that occurs in our house ) I get laughed at here because I am a gm lover, but cheer for a ford driver Edwards comes from Missouri tho. got to cheer for the homeboy

Overcast here all day, though it did get up to 58 degrees. It stayed dry. We did some running around, seeing some of this area we'd never been to before. DW and I are enjoying the rest. Hope all of you are well and having a great day. We've just done a lot of walking with the dogs, in fact, getting ready to take off again...y'all take care out there, catch ya later...

Sounds like you are having a ball there this week NC. Are the "children" enjoying their holiday? Does Kathy cook dinner for thanksgiving ? I dotn know if I would want to do anything very messy in my little MoHo oven. I hate cleaning that thing Tomorrow is my day to cook and believe me when I say it is going to be very abbreviated this year. just doing the essentials. Of course.... I ALWAYS say that....and then...

She cooks the turkey, pumpkin pie and everything else that will last us through Sunday or so. I've tried to just go to Boston Market, or take her out, but she swears up and down she really likes to make the "big meal"...She has a roaster that she fixes the turket in, the stove, oven and convection oven are for everything else. The kitchen smells are awesome. Been doing this since 2000. We got tired of fixing up a big dinner for everyone and they would come by, eat dinner and that was it...so we started doing "our own thing"..you know, for "us".
Weather hasn't been "that" bad, have seen very little sun since Saturday. It hasn't rained since Sunday, just really cloudy and even the temps. haven't been bad, down in the mid 40's. Furnace hasn't even been on yet, just heating with the electric fireplace in the livingroom...
Watching NCIS LA...kind of like this show, along with NCIS...y'all take care, have a great evening...I'll drop back in later.

I love NCIS LA. One of the best new series this season. No spoilers please! I DVR everything and am weeks behind!
Weather in St. Augustine got ugly last night. I feel like I'm back in the NW. One of the disadvantages of a MH is the sound of hard rain waking me. It's kind of comforting, but if it's too loud, it can be difficult to get back to sleep. I'm not sure I can get to my car for all of the puddles! Had planned to do more touristing in St. Augustine today and bought a ghost tour for tonight. I'm hoping the weather gets a lot better - or I'll be staying home with a good book.
This is my first Thanksgiving alone. I had planned to cook a cornish game hen, smashed potatoes, salad, maybe some kind of veggie, but my neighbors - also alone for the first time - invited me over to share their turkey. I'm looking forward to it - and so nice of them to invite me over.
Hope everyone has a great day :-)
