Those of you driving the Stewart-Cassiar (Hwy 37) this year may be interested in the Telegraph Creek Road (which runs west from Dease Lake) if you like to really get off the beaten track. I was in 2 weeks ago, and just posted some photos of the trip at http://www.explorenorth.com/wordpress/ (I also have an older but so-far-better-captioned album of the road at http://www.explorenorth.com/library/roads/tel-ck-rd-photos.html ).
This is not a road for Class A rigs - trying to looking back to my first time in when I'd never seen anything quite like that road, I doubt that I'd take anything longer than 25 feet in. That trip was 20 years ago -
the road hasn't changed a bit, but my reaction to it has after 100 or so trips across the Top of the World in an MCI

Thanks for posting your photos of the Telegraph Creek area. I've passed this road numerous times but never went up it. But, after seeing your photos I think that this is next years trip. This year we are going up the Haul Road (Dalton Hwy). Again thanks for the information.

Thanks for the memory! We did the Telegraph Creek road in 1995 - in our TV. left trailer at Dease Lake service station where we had spent the previous night. A good friend of ours was the aAchiotect and supervisor of construction for the "new" school at T.C. and had recommende that Be do the drive.

Will have to add that one to our list for future years. Still want to drive into Fort Simpson too. And, believe it or not, still haven't visited Atlin. Actually ... the road to Atlin is now the ONLY road in the Yukon we haven't RVed. At least we leave ourselves an excuse to come back another year!
