Pinery PP is usually open all year round. This year is the first year they are closed. This is due to the fact they are rebuilding the comfort stations. The only other PP open in that end would be MacGregor Point PP 3 to 4 hrs away from Windsor. It is close to Owen sound. Sorry this is the closest I could find. I know Milton Heights in Milton Ontario is open all winter. But that too is 4 hrs away. Good luck on your search.

While it's not close to Windsor, we are going to try this campground south of Pinery near Ipperwash Beach before we cross at Sarnia this year. I called them, it's open in December.

Ontario Parks that are open for camping all year around are Algonquin (Mew Lake) up in the Huntsville area, MacGregor Point (Port Elgin)and usually the Pinery but as noted before, it is closed this winter for repairs. Valens conservation area (near Cambridge) is open except for December. Some private campgrounds are open but I do not have a list. Mew Lake and MacGregor Point both have comfort stations fully functional, roads plowed, campsites plowed, etc. Phone the park before hand to determine lastest conditions. Once the cold weather sets in, MacGregor hopes to have an ice skating oval operating and possibly a X-Country Ski trail. This is where we are right now for the winter doing the hosting. Email me if I can help with general information. frankspence@hughes.net

Just wanted to say thanks to those that responded. I finally gave up searching for a place still open in November - everything I found was closed by the end of October. I guess we're pretty lucky having Valens Conservation area only 30 minutes from our house - we go there 11 months of the year.

Our Ponderosa in Ipperwash has winter camping. With winter water and electrical hookups.
