Canadian Tire has a tire pressure monitor system on sale this week for $49.99 reduced from $149.99. Has anyone used this system on their trailer or fifth wheel? Is the range enough for it to work properly?

thanks

Go to their site and read the reviews, doesnt look good! One of the posters states that it does not work on a trailer (Or toad for that matter I would guess) and gives a false sense of security.

Darn, piece of junk, typical although CT do have some really good deals, at least compared to some other Stores!

I looked at them also, and have desided to keep doing it the way I always done it. I check all my tires once each day before traveling and taht seams to have worked for me fine so far.

I've been using a set of these on my 5th Wheel Trailer for the past year and a half with poor results. The monitor often loses a signal for the tires due to the distance to the sending unit (I assume). At any rate, the monitor is deceiving since it continues to read the PSI that it was reading prior to losing the signal. No warning, no alarm - just a false reading that my tire pressures are fine.

I learned to use it only for morning start-ups. Couldn't trust it any other time. Not sure how they work on a small vehicle like a car (which is what they are designed for). May work fine there but they don't work well at all on a trailer.

Hope that helps.

99.99% of stuff that is sold at Canadian Tire is just garbage! Go to a decent store and buy something better quality.

The pressure pro system works well with our truck and 5th wheel and the sensors are quite durable. One of the sensors on the truck took a hit, the steel valve stem broke just at the base of the sensor, I used an "easy out" to remove the portion threaded into the pressure pro and it still worked after I got the valve stem replaced.

SWD, Thanks for your input on Canadian Tire product quality. I wasn't aware CT had two levels of stores. Here in Ontario I have purchased many quality items from Canadian Tire. It's unfortunate people in Western Canada have to be saddled with nothing but poor quality items at CT.

Thanks for the heads up, it'll save me wasting my time at CT when traveling in Western Canada.

cheers and have a great day.
