It was actually very disappointing to me the last trip to Yukon just how available the internet and cell service were. I can no longer say to the boss that we're out of range all the time ... and last trip ended up having several Skype video calls with the office, from Beaver Creek, Whitehorse and Watson Lake.

All that connectivity ... it was horrible!! UGH.

That is exactly my philosophy as well. We all, including myself, have become to addicted too "connectivity".

A very good site showing free spots is here. Lots of them are inside cafes & coffee shops so it may be a weak signal from your car.

If you want a mostly guaranteed and always available internet connection, a satellite internet provider is your only real choice.

WiFi can be plentiful in places, and unseen in others. I'd never RELY on it, but if your connectivity needs preclude *relying* on a connection but it's just something that's nice to have when you find it, then just hunting up free connections here and there will work for you.

If it's mission critical, it's time to look elsewhere.
