I thought I could find some up to date info here - but I can't seem to find what I am looking for.
Any tips out there?
Thanks

Jambo's link is Canadian government source and very nice. I always think government sources have to be up to date and should be more reliable.
& I, I took the road less travelled by.

We crossed two weeks ago, they were concerned with Lamb only. The only meat we had was cat food. He read the labels on the can even when it said chicken only.

Beef and fruit items are usually taken away. Dry dog food if not in original packaging and labeled made in USA will be taken away.

That's how I see it too; easiest thing is to stop & shop once you've crossed.

Living in Maine, we travel a lot in the Maritime Provinces and cross frequently from New Brunswick back into Maine. You just never know what the U.S. Customs will be looking for. Sometimes it's fruit; sometimes it's meat; sometimes liquor, sometimes vegetables. It is always a******shoot what to leave in the 5'er and what to throw out. More often than not, it seems to be at the whim of the border patrol. At our last crossing in September, they didn't even ask about food. Other times they've torn the trailer apart searching for..????? It's kind of frustrating.

We crossed back and forth 6 times between the US and Canada this Summer and were never asked about food.

A lot depends upon whether or not you are traveling with an rv. We cross weekly throughout the camping season and if I had my car (going to our seasonal site), we were never asked about food; with our 5th wheel or when we had the motorhome, we were always asked.
