Why would you want to spend the winter in Benson,AZ?
I have been there 3 times for a week at a time, and can't see any reason to stay any longer. Hobo

AND, Why would you, hobo, want to live in Tacoma?
I have been through there twice and can't see any reason to stay any longer.
Just maybe, jjammo, like many others, enjoys Benson! Who are you to judge?

We stayed in Benson last year, sorry I can’t remember the name of the park, but it was nice. It had an observatory and it was fun viewing the stars. Benson is a good central location to a number of places to go and see, but has the advantage of being a small town with not all the hustle bustle of some larger places. The people in Benson are really friendly. We would go back

Benson is a pretty central location for southern AZ. Plenty of great exploration; Chiricahua Nat. Monument, Coronado Mtns., Tombstone/Bisbee/Douglas areas, Sierra Vista, Huachuca Mtns. and our favorite birding spot - Ramsey Canyon. All these, and much more, an easy day trip from Benson!

Hey neighbor, be sure to take a coat. When we were there, it got down to the low 20's, much like it is right now in Medford.

Wife is Travel Nurse. New assignment. Besides as others said, it is also a good central location for lots of things. We also go metal detecting, plan on trying some gold prospecting, sight seeing, Mexico, Tucson, Bisbee etc. Why do people go anywhere? I havn't been back to Tacoma since I was stationed there in the early 70's.(Been there, done that!) I like going other places and usually always enjoy it. Benson might get cold at night but but warms up nice during the day with low humidity. Still better than winter here. How come you're staying up there?

We are not heading south this year, spent four months in Alaska this summer, and that is enough traveling this year considering the economic situation. Thinking of Death Valley next year, or maybe New Mexico a little earlier in the year between hunting seasons. If you are leaving now, be careful going over the passes with this weather. Have fun.

Benson and Area are just as interesting as Anywhere else in Arizona. The Karchner Caverns are nearby , it's not far to Bisbee , Tombstone and several Other Ghost Towns. The Local Shopping is a bit on the Sparse side but it isn't far over to Tucson. There is an Air Museum and a ICBM Site/Museum not far away also!
Also If it is too Cold ,Nogales and Mexico are just South of there!
