Our Group sent a Green plant with fresh cuts with the spring group rally picture in it for the funeral in memory of Julie Miks father.

Thank you, everyone for the lovely plant and flowers. Mom has heard me talk about all you guys so many times and was very touched that my camping friends would do something so kind for us. She didn't remember a lot when we would tell her things, and asked me four or five times who the flowers were from with the picture. Every time, it was like I hadn't told her previously, and she was touched all over again!
Yesterday was very difficult -- having to say goodbye forever, but it was a beautiful service and included military honors. Even though we knew it was coming, the 21 gun salute still made us all flinch. The playing of taps about did me in.
All in all, it was a lovely service and so many of dad's friends and families came to be with us and help us through our grief. Dad would have been proud.
