Sweetthing,
There is a "consumer reports" for RV's. As I have in the past on this forum, I would urge you, or anyone else planning to buy an RV, to get a copy of the RV Consumer's Group ratings guide (CD). The will give you some objective information and ratings on the different models out there. Yes, the guide costs about $80, but that is pretty insignificant when you're going to spend $40,000+ on a fifth wheel. (You may be able to find the guide in some libraries). The RV Consumers Group website is: www.rv.org
We have used the guide to purchase our last 3 RV's and found the ratings to be pretty accurate. The RV before we discovered the ratings was a piece of junk and we wish we had known about the guide then. (The guide accurately predicted it was poor in quality.) There are models out there that are better rated for the same money with the same features. You could do better than KZ. Unless you're an expert on RV's (which we are not), think about it.
Don't believe anything that RV salespeople tell you and only about half of what RV owners tell you about their rigs. They are not objective after having made a decision and sinking $35,000+ into their rigs. They want to believe they got the best.
Good Luck!

Since the RV Consumers Group does no testing or inspecting of the RV's they rate I found them to be totally worthless to me. I did pay the fee and got the CD but it was a waste of money and time. I can look up the company specs on RVs like they do and save the $80. Having bought a KZ after owning several others I can tell you objectively that their service and warranty is as good as they get. Any small problems I had were taken care of promptly and correctly.

I can't say what the consumers group does or doesn't do, but I didn't see any information that I couldn't/didn't find myself.
I owned a KZ Escalade for 3 years until I got out of the RV game. NO problems whatsoever with the KZ and when needed, their warranty people were helpful even if it wasn't their problem: I had a problem with a Norcold reefer and the KZ reps assisted in getting Norcold off the dime.

I've now said it twice, so you can only believe half of what I said and you'll still get the drift.

Here' my 2 cents worth. We bought a used (1 owner)2006 Escalade to live in full time before we retire and have lived in it for 1 year. It is a beautiful rig and I am sure there are rigs out there that may be comparable. We had one hinge break and KZ sent me 2 new ones, no questions, I also have emailed them several times and have quick response. There are few design issues which I have corrected, but I am sure all manufactureres have design issues. Here recently, I noticed a leak on the floor of the bedroom slide and contacted them asking for assistance in locating the possible source of the leak and that is all I expected. They told me to bring the unit back in and they would repair any damage and go over the whole unit, at no cost to me. To me that is excellent service for an out of warranty, second owner unit. Would I buy another KZ? Would definately be on my short list and

We started with a scotty(great starter). and went to a Cobra(great), then a Holiday Rambler (Junk), then a Jaco(Great), Just sold a Gulf Stream(ok) and purchased a Durango 305SB By KZ. So far we are very satisfied with our 5er and the service we have received from our dealer. We had a small issue with the microwave and it was fixed on the one and only trip to have all service work done. The craftsmanship is great in our unit. All slides work nice and smooth. Pulls like a dream with a goose neck adapter with a 2500 truck. We have had a lot of compliments on it. We make no claim to being inspectors, we can only tell you our experiences. Good luck with your search. You can go to goingkz website and get more info.

We had a 2000 3003 bunkhouse TT. It developed a leak in the front end (may have been there from the start). Had to have the front end completely rebuilt in 2002. At that time KZ only had a 1 year warranty. The guys in their shop did the work for $500 and picked up the trailer from my house (4 hours away). I picked up the finished product at their factory (I wanted to look around). We were satisfied with their work and never had any other issues. Would probably consider again.
Lost...But making good time.

Or you can pay me the $80.00 and I will rate them for you
It is my opinion that there is no knowledge greater than the knowledge given by someone who has a direct dealing with what ever it may be. The owners on here are honest about their rigs and are not making any money on the sale...I have found that KZ has had a great reputation in the past and for the money, you can't complain about the product.I would rather ask questions on this forum and get all kinds of answers than ask a saleman or read a book, like already said, the books don't live in the RV's they just look at numbers. Good Luck you you and Happy Camping! Joe
