Rexhall offers this option as well which makes access easier to the rear bathroom.

I think he saw a Constellation by Gulf Stream. I saw one in GA last spring that could be had for a little over $200K. I think it had five television sets in it.

Sounds and looks really cool - but I like to watch TV in bed.
The TV above the seating is for use while in bed. Other Newell's have used a large flat screen TV (up to 50") mounted to the bottom of the Murphy bed and a similar size LCD or Plasma TV on the wall behind the seating for use while in bed.

We saw it at the Tampa RV show and were VERY impressed. It had a 46 inch tv under the Murphy bed. It was a Gulfstream Constellation. It was sold when we went back to look at it again.

The fold up bed made it like a TV room. You still had another TV to watch in bed.

We loved it!

I was also very impressed with the dual-function room, almost like you have an extra room during the daytime, and a home theater no less! The Newmar is impressive, but a little too gaudy if you ask me, and also the sticker is WAY high for my budget.

The highlights of the Constellation:
- home theater (master bedroom doesn't sit useless all day, adds 127 s.f. to floorplan)
- 7.5' ceiling height
- rear bath plan, 1 1/2 baths total
- yacht-like curved cabinets
- 308" wheelbase (longer than Newmar Essex!)
- tag axle for additional stable ride
- did I mention it looks SWEET? (if you're into the yacht look)

Any feedback from actual Constellation or even Tourmaster owners is GREATLY appreciated, because for all those great points, if the quality and safety aren't there, I ain't buying one.

I am planing on building a murphy bed for my older Bounder. I just want more room to move around. I don't think it will look like the Newell. I am redoing the flooring at he same time.

Having more usable space is a great idea. I am surprised that more murphy bed ideas have not made it into motorhomes.

That was one of the things that people liked about the Monaco Safari Trek, especially the rear living room models. They had the two couches and you could watch TV, or entertain several people, and then at bedtime, instead of a Murphy bed, you would lower the bed down from the ceiling and use it as a bedroom. This way it took up none of the floor space when retracted back into the ceiling. The nice thing was that the TV would swivel out from the slide-out wall and the TV could be watched while you were in the large bed if you wanted. It really gave quite a bit of living space in a 30' coach.

the Trek type of bed would be much nicer in the rear bedroom if it was situated N/S and had a 3/4 wall at the foot end where the tracks could be mounted. then you wouldn't have to crawl over one another getting in and out. Sorta like some of the floor plans of the Everlite TTs.
