Yuma Arizona is pretty warm all the time - We have never tried there as every time we went, it was TOO hot. Quartzsite, and Brenda are two places that stay pretty warm all winter too - we have spent a couple of winters there and enjoyed it, but Quarzsite is getting too much - it is a giant flea market, and full of thousands of people - great to visit once, but too much to be there everyday. We stayed '06'07 in Tonapah, at Saddle Mountain RV park - we recommend that one to anyone - there are miles of desert trails and roads, jeep trails, and it is not too far from the shops.

Parts of Arizona get very cold in winter, so make sure you stay to the south.

Eventually we will get it right!

This is our 2nd winter in Yuma and 5th in the Yuma area. For my $$$ you can't beat it for warmth. It is warmer than most other Arizona cities known for winter stays. The town is set up for winter tourism, lots of nice places to stay with varying prices and amenities. You're also close to many activities as well as less than 200 miles to San Diego or Phoenix if you get the Big City bug. ------- pieman

We have stayed in Mesa, Arizona several winters. Warm and sunny most of the time. We are square dancers, and there is alot of dancing at many of the RV parks there. We usually stay at Viewpoint Golf and RV Park. Big park, but if you golf, swim and dance plus many other activities, it's a good deal.

Just keep in mind that Arizona is NOT Florida. Many people think it'll be the same. It won't.

DH and I enjoy going to the Sierra Vista/Tombstone area. Stayed at Tombstone Territories RV Park - very nice, has a pool and hot tub, big meeting area, all pull-thrus, walking trails. Not overly warm there - mostly in the 70s and 80s during the day. Plenty to do and see in the area. Can't beat it for scenery.

We have spent the winter at Case Grande, AZ and have really enjoyed it. Some cold nights (down to about 35), but rapid warming during the day -- jackets off in mid morning. We have spent several winters in Florida and think Arizona is a bit cooler, but not as windy. All in all, very nice!

I will put a vote in for Tombstone Territorties RV Park, we have spent the winter here and the weather has mostly been warm, although there are some cool nights for sure, nights are mostly cool, some below freezing temps mid December to Jan, but the days warm up very nicely. People in the area are great, many activities at the park, from Jam Sessions, presentations, entertainers, organized trips to nearby attractions and much more. The park is immaculately kept, laundry is spotless. The park has good sized lots, 40' x 80', a pool, hot tub, library, walking trails and a great staff. We plan on returning here next winter. As the previous poster stated there are many attractions to see, shopping is close but the park is peaceful away from heavy traffic, no trains! This winter has been fantastic!

We generally spend part of each winter in Arizona; in Yuma, Casa Grande, and Benson. Warm daytime temps., but Benson is high desert and freezes at night, more than just occasionally. In fact, we were there about a month ago and got 5-6" of snow one day - all melted by afternoon, but weird and pretty.

A little north of Phoenix is the Cottonwood/Sedona region, which is beautiful, but will be cooler. And of course, a bit more north you have Flagstaff, which definitely gets snow.

I would say because of the humidity, Florida is less variable in temps during the winter, but as suggested, it is very different than the SW.

What about the Brownsville area of TX? Other than that wind, of course...

They all beat Buffalo, NY though.

I have only been to Buffalo NY once in winter. The sight of cars buried completely in the snow convinced me I don't want to go there again..
