Hey mouse, why would you remove the sensor from the fin? Also, fan in the back would help move air up the back of the fridge. That is how it cools, check the area in the back for clear ventilation.

Removing it from the fin (which is cold) moves it to a warmer area, the fridge will have a longer cycle and get colder.

Yes, a fan in the back helps move air. The tech just said it makes no real difference unless you are in a VERY hot climate. Don't know if he's correct or not, just glad he told me instead of blindly selling me a $60 fan kit that may not be effective here in the northeast.

Both Dometic and Norcold build their bigger units with fans. Norcold has used them for years. Really does not matter where you are, that area behind the fridge is always hot and the air needs to move thru it for the fridge to cool. If you can look sraight up behind the fridge, make sure there are no obstructionsm Amazing what you could find back there. I have even talked to one instructor where the factory did not cut the hole in the roof for the vent. No wonder it would not cool.

A fan to blow air across the condenser coils will help the performance of your Fridge in the summer. I have found that mine makes little difference until the outside temp gets above 80 degrees. The bigger issue is making sure that the vent on the roof and on the side of the trailer are both clear of debris. You need the unrestricted airflow.

The fan inside the fridge also helps. Absorption fridges do not have compressors so there is no fan to circulate the cool air. Adding a battery powered fan to create some air movement will help considerably.
