I am trying to decide which model to purchase, and wanted ideas as to the make and model you are using - we are towing with a 2007 Honda Minivan - the actual weight (not dry) of our ROO HTT is 2976 per the scales and without water. We have a 17 foot Roo

You'll find great reviews on the Equalizer and Reese DC and seem to be the most popular.

I use a Reese DC with 600# bars pulling a 21ft hybrid weighing 4800 loaded.

We got a Eaz-lift hitch from dealer when bought rv
Jayco 19h, weight 3475. Hitches made since 1953 and works good.
Price was $265. that included a sway bar also.

I use the 600lb equalizer, works just fine but I'd like to try lifting the other brands too see how they are weight wise, this one is darn heavy to haul around. It also sqeeks something feirce, but then my tongue weight is too much for it so I've got the unit pretty much maxed out. If you go with the equalizer, I'd suggest the arm rest pads too.

LobsterLove2 - looks like you have a 17 foot roo and honda van just like we do - how do you feel about towing after getting setup with the WD Hitch?

thre is no way i would considar towing this trailer with your TV. You are overloaded. The specs on your vehicle indicate that the 3500lb capacity assumes that only a 150 lb driver with no cargo or passengers can tow this amount. Personally, this set up is unsafe and you should reconsidar for the safety of your family and others on the road. When i had my 2001 Dodge grand caravan, very similar to your Honda, my trip bringing my 2100 lb Rockwood pop up home from the dealer was the last. I sold my caravan the next week and bought an Envoy XL. I now own a 2005 Starcraft 19CK that weighs in at 3300# loaded and with my Envoy Xl 4WD I6 3.42 rear end I am at my limit for safe towing. Be careful !!

I use an Equal-I-zer hitch with the 600# bars for my 18 footer.

It's noisy (pops and bangs), but it works.

As you can see in my signature, I use an Equal-I-Zer 1000/10K version (we may upgrade someday, after that lottery ticket hits LOL).
Our Roo is just under 24' and around 4K without full load.

As MF states it pops and bangs, but, it works very well. The sounds only occur during tight turning/backing.

We have driven the rig in heavy winds and passed by the speeding 18 wheelers and there was nary a sway.

I'm very happy with this equipment.

I was trying to figure out if I could tow a HTT with my 2006 Honda at one point - for interest's sake, each middle seat was 61 pounds, so you can toss them both out if you want a bit less weight!
