Has anyone done that? What problems did you run in to? What was good about it?
Here's why I'm asking, I know of a single person who could use some help around her place. I told her if any responses I receive from the board are encouraging I would send them her way.
She lives on a bit of land out New Mexico way.
She also now has a link to the group so might decide to participate on this topic.

We have done one tour as volunteers, working for our RV site only which was on private property. That particular one was on a grass landing strip where we kept the place mowed and did some other work in return for a full hook-up site. We see ads in the magazine Workamper News frequently for such positions on private property.
What kind of problems are you looking for? Like any such position, it is imperative that there be a good understanding between the person with the need and the RVer who is to accept the position. It is pretty much the same no matter where you are to work. Many RV parks have at least some positions that work for the RV site only.
Generally, if you do this the RVer will expect to receive a full hook-up site and perhaps some amenities, like laundry equipment use or possibly propane. In general, they work on private property situations about 20 to 24 hours per week in total for the RV site. If you have a good enough accommodation, then you might get a few more hours of work.

Could we be more specific on the location in NM?...we have a park in TorC exit 75 on I-25 and have patrons always looking for something to do. She's welcome to call me @ 575.894.3685

I have done this kind of thing at a remote location in NM. It was fun, the lady was nice but had a difficult time negotiating with us for extra skilled work she wanted (her husband ended up doing it).
Best part was being in a historically interesting area with plenty of time to explore and hike. Bad part was tainted water (old mining area) that she misinformed us about. But we moved on...no harm.

The property owner needs to research the New Mexico Workers Compensation Laws. If the people doing the work are considered employees under that state's laws then she may need to get a worker's comp insurance policy.

To the one question she's about 1/2 hour south of Albuquerque.
What I know, she's a single woman. Very maintenance challenged when it comes to reattaching a board on the side of the barn. She's also pretty unaware of what it takes to hook up an RV.
As to the amount of work, it sounds like its no where near a full time job. Here if they knew you had another residence on the property the taxes go up.
I've encouraged her to contact legal aid in her area to make certain there wouldn't be any issues legally with having someone camped out on her place.
I will pass your phone number on Web. And just maybe she'll join the group and will describe more of what it is she needs first hand.
