Could the orange cables (ala Hybrid) and dual alternators indicate some kind of start/stop/hybrid system? Speculation is 700tq and 390hp...

Interesting. The cables aren't properly placed to be a hybrid setup that I'm familiar with, but they are the correct color. There's a mess of small wires coming off the battery in the corner of the pic, so there's something going on.

I don't get lost, I investigate alternative destinations.

See a guy in the campground with a telescope, that may be me.

nice write up...good info.

It will be interesting to see how the "scorpion" and this new LML turn out.

An 8 speed Allison would be interesting for sure.

I have dual alternators on mine and it isn't a hybrid. I bet some of the electrical connections are there solely to monitor the new engine while testing. I don't like the emmission changes at all.

I'd say dual alternators will be an option. All this info I read was talking about a 2011 GM/Chevy Duramax, not a 2010, it was in another link. Hope GM/Chevy get their act together and become a viable company again. I'm not in the market for anything new and don't plan on getting anything new from any of them, they all want WAY TOO MUCH money for something that they don't have the confidence in their product to warranty for more than 3yr/36,000miles with their most basic coverage. That includes Nissan and Toyota along with the Big Three. I'm not talking drive train, 10yr/100,000 warranty, THAT should be a given. 390HP, 700ft/lb of torque..how much???? What kind of warranty. Bottom line, WHO REALLY CARES??? They don't care about the consumer, seems they still OWE US a pile of money. WIIFM (WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?).

Nice to know that bankruptcy hasn't slowed GM's HD truck development.

Reality is the R&D has to go on. If they emerge from bankruptcy then they have to be on top of the emissions and problem curves.

What changes is the number of projects that go on. Something that's an engineering exercise will fall to the wayside, while real development work will go on.
