We worked in Death Valley at the Ranch for 18 months and loved it. The pool down at the ranch was wonderful. 85 degrees all the time.

Walmart in Pahrump is just over and hour away. We went to Pahrump every week when we had off. From what I understand now is, Xanterra has put in an internet system, so things should be good.

There is no cell sevice there, but you can put in a landline.

I can't think of a nicer place to spend the winter! Death Valley is one of my favorite places. We haven't tried workcamping, but if we were going to, that would be the spot. To heck with shopping!
