Fort Worden State Park, Coast Artilary Museum needs Volunteers for July & August. Located in Port Townsend, WA, the Museum is very interesting, as it includes the history of the Fort and the original Gun Emplacements from the 1900s. This Park was used for the defense of the waters of Puget Sound in Washington State. The original 1900s building have been restored and the state park includes rentals of the historic Officers Quarters in addition to two campgrounds. Many Family Reunions, Weddings and Major Conferences occur here. The current thrust for Fort Worden is as a Life Long Learning Center which includes three museums, two colleges, exercise studio, woodworking school and a marine science center. There are major week long music events here such as Jazz, Fiddle Tunes, and Blues Festivals. The Volunteer position is a place to be of Service and you will receive a beautilul place to park RV with full hook-ups in exchange for 28 hours per week commitment. I am a Volunteer here and have been coming back for 6 years. I always learn new, stimulating things and the people here a great to work with.
