Yesterday afternoon we got the heaviest hail I’ve ever seen in this country, and this morning the temperature is -5°C (23°F), everything (including the road) is glazed with ice and the last of my flowers have been killed. I've posted 3 photos on my blog.

Global warming
We've been having more thunder and lightning than usual in South/Central Alaska, but we haven't lost any plants yet.

Murray, I hope mother nature gets it out of her system before end of August. We're looking forward to the typically clear and sunny Septembers during this year's planned trip ... sure hope we aren't disappointed!

Hey Murray!
You should have been at Kusawa Lake over the weekend. We were there from Thursday to Sunday. Had a short bit of rain on Saturday and the rest of the time was warm and sunny. Hard to leave there yesterday afternoon......BTW: Temp. on Sunday at 6 AM was 0.4C. It was cool and clear on Saturday night.

We really liked Whitehorse while were traveling to Alaska in 2007. One of our favorite stops! I will send up some the record 104 degree F temps we had today in San Antonio, Texas. Wish we were up north this year! Sorry about your flowers--the heat and lack of rain are killing mine.
