We have a Ford 2007 F350 crewcab longbed 4x4 6.0 turbo deisel. I recently installed a Banks cat back monster exhaust, Banks air intake, auto meter gauges-boost, pyro and trans temp. We pull a KZ Montego Bay 36ikb approx 14,500 - 15,000 pin approx 2500 - 2700 or so. I am thinking of doing a programer or a tuner maybe a superchips flaspaq....soooooo many conflicting stories i am besides myself.. do i or do i leave well enough alone. It pulls fine now but more power would be cool. Does anyone have a similar set up as I, who might share some helpful or constructive advice???? Thanks so much if you do. Happy RVing to all....

absolutely do NOT use a super chips tuner with that kind of weight. try www.powerhungryperformance.com Bill has been custom tuning trucks for years, he knows his stuff. he did my 6 position chip for $329. these are custom tunes specifically for your truck and pcm, not some off the shelf garbage.

You are fast approaching voiding your warranty, that is if you have not already even without the programmer. The 6.0 just is not designed to be pepped up with serious damage to engine or at least that is what the Chevy guys say.

Warranty will be null and void. Don't know how fast you want to go but mine will run at 70 to 75 all day. My gross weight is 23,000 lbs.

If you really want a tuner, use a customer programmer from SCT Like the XCALII.
Use a real tuner like Troyer Performace (Mike Troyer, he is a Ford programing guru) or Innovative Diesel, talk to Eric.
Custom tunes are just that...you tell them what you want, and what mods you have and will design them around your rig.
That being said, I sure wouldn't program a 6.0. They pull fine in stock..I know I had a tow tune for one trip, took that sucker off and put back to stock..stock shift points are great, power is good. IMHO, having had it, you don't need it. Had a econ tune, yeah it was nice to have less turbo lag and the mpg's went up, but not worth the cost of a warranty issue.
Cruise on over to thedieselstop.com and check out the mod threads, do a search on tuners and programing. Plenty of reading over there so you can make a decision on what to do.

This is one in which I can speak to completely. I have the Banks exhaust and cold air intake. I also have the Superchip. I just had my truck in the shop for a bad injector and Ford had no issue with my mods or completing this under warranty. Maybe not all dealers are the same, but this dealer apparently doesn't mind business. They get paid by Ford to fix my truck, I will take it elsewhere if it is not covered under warranty.
The Superchip is fairly conservative programing, and far better of a mod for the money than the Banks stuff. I only use the fuel saver programming when not towing and "tow safe" when towing my 12-13K trailer. While the programmer made a BIG (and I mean BIG) difference, it is not overly aggressive to make your engive overreach and blow up on you. If I were to start from scratch, I'd forget about the Banks stuff and only add the tuner. The Banks exhaust still requires the factory Cat, which controls you back pressure. I think these exhausts do more for a Cummins engine than they do for Ford. I will say that I used to get 8'ish mpg towing and I now get a solid 11 average. Percentage wise, that's a big increase.

If Ford denies a warranty claim it is logged into the Ford system where they log your VIN. So if you go to another dealer, they pull your VIN and presto, no more work on that issue. I have first hand experience with that...(non engine related) Tried 2 other dealers after the first no, with no resolution, learned to live with it. Not a big deal.
Good luck to you and the OP.
