Spotted this article in the news. Interesting....

Rachel Metz, THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
NEW YORK - As part of its turnaround plan, General Motors Corp. said Friday it plans to experiment with auctioning new cars on eBay, expanding on an existing partnership covering certified used vehicles on the online marketplace.

That news report is somewhat misleading. GM is discussing a plan where new vehicles would be sold on EBAY but in conjunction with dealers. GM is not licensed to retail vehicles and therefore can't put them on EBAY.

This is not really new and many dealers already list certain new vehicles on EBAY. The plan is not to have an auction but rather displaying a buy it now price and a minimum bid price.

I will not buy a GM vehicle until the government is no longer involved with them.

Yep I too am done with GM. Let them sink. They are not going to make anything I would be interested in anymore anyway.

DW's Pontiac G6 will become a collectors item.

GM long ago jumped the shark and hasn't built anything that interested me in years. The G8 and Camaro are nice, but they'll screw them up. They always do.

The first time since 1971 there hasn't been a GM Truck in my drive way. We have but one GM left and we are looking at others now. I really don't think there was any better Trucks made than the Duramax/Allisons. But I had enough, I was a very loyal customer and GM management was destroyed from within just to much legacy cost. And now there probably want be another company like GM. GBY....

P.S. This post want last long, to much common sense, Oh I forgot, common sense died.

I put GM into the same tank with the other companies that have dumped there customers. The best way to handle these companies is to vote with your wallet, runing away as fast as you can.

You might wanna think twice before you stop buying GM products. You OWN GM folks. It might be in your (our) best intrest if they DO make a go of it.

So tell me, if you like the Duramax/ Allison, and you can get it for the price you are willing to pay, and it's a good solid vehicle, what difference is it to you what management did?

I may be in the minority here, but I wish GM all the luck in the world. I want my kids to get my money back. Wishful thinking? Maybe. But I know for a fact that if they don't make it, my kids don't even have a glimmer of hope.
