No more GM for us past 2009, we'll keep our old ones running or buy a Ford, it's a shame but I WILL NOT support Government Motors. The only way they are going to make it is if they eliminate the competition. Same management, same vehicles, same unions.

You might wanna think twice before you stop buying GM products. You OWN GM folks. It might be in your (our) best intrest if they DO make a go of it.

So tell me, if you like the Duramax/ Allison, and you can get it for the price you are willing to pay, and it's a good solid vehicle, what difference is it to you what management did?

I may be in the minority here, but I wish GM all the luck in the world. I want my kids to get my money back. Wishful thinking? Maybe. But I know for a fact that if they don't make it, my kids don't even have a glimmer of hope.

I understand where you are coming from!

However,,,my view is that WE Nor our KIDS Nor Grandkids will never see a dime from GM being Nationalized..

Any $$$$$$ IMHO,,,,will go to redistribution in one form or another,,,,and to PROMOTE Political Agendas,,,,,,,which it already has....

I don't and will not knowingly support any Government Agenda that promotes the Nationalization of Private Business.......

Many of us won't see the end results in our lifetime,,,,,,hopefully our kids and grandkids will be able to take back their country in their lifetime..........and enjoy the freedoms we had in our youth!!!!

We have allowed the Government to dictate Free Enterprise,,,,,who made the decisions to close what dealerships.........IMHO,,,,this is just more of the beginning..........

Watch for Sequels!!!!

What are you guys gonna do when the gov gives Ford bail out money?
You think Ford is healthy and will get thru this on their own?
The only reason Ford
hasn't needed bailout $$ yet is because they borrowed 26B right before the financial collapse.
Right now Ford is 38B in debt and bleeding red ink all over the place.
GM is 24B in debt and Chrysler about 12B in debt.

I know I just pulled the head on my son's 4 cyl GMC truck and had trouble getting a head gasket for it. It was a dealer only item and several dealers told me "good luck" getting one. The dealer that ordered it said it'd take a while but they assured me they would get it and finally after 3 weeks it came in.

I have owned GM vehicles for ~30 years and have 3 of them now. Never again!

Yes. They are quite committed to not taking gubment money. They saw what happened to the other two and don't want that to happen to them.

GM and Chrysler are only there after getting 100B and 50B in gubment money. They aren't bleeding red ink anywhere near as fast and are cutting the rate of burn rapidly.

I certainly will not buy a Government Motors product however; I think the time for exercising my right of ‘choice’ is quickly disappearing. The speed these changes are coming is incredible. However, if the current economic situation continues, my ‘choice’ will be exercised in determining which pair of tennis shoes should I buy for the Ankle Express.

The quicker the government kills GM, the better off the tax payers will be. We are jsut sinkog money into a pit. America wants choice, not change

Ford was smart to not take the bait. They will pick up a lot of the orphans from Government Motors and Chrysler.

Many people don't see the forest because the trees are in the way. In fact the writing is on the wall in big bold letters for those that can read and think at the same time. GM is nationalized. Now owned by whom? NOT the bondholders of the corporation, which legally it should be. It is now owned by the GOVERNMENT and the WORKERS.
Sound familiar?
It should, if anyone here is old enough to remember the former COMMUNIST Soviet Union.

Government Motors will not go bankrupt, unless everything else falls down around it. Ford will either be nationalized too or fail. The government subsidized companies will undercut them at every possible opportunity. You know as well as I do that the U.S.Government doesn't play without a stacked deck. Has anyone here really thought about the effect this will have on all US corporations and investors? Combine this with the new taxes and the effect is going to be an accelerated movement of corporations going overseas. They won't walk, they will run to get away. This country was formerly a relatively safe place to invest your money. Not any more. This is the change that was promised in the last election. The US is now just like any other risky Central American country to invest in.

Arguing now about whether a person will buy a GovMot vehicle in the future is kind of like keeping the band playing for entertainment while the ship sinks.
Wake up folks. We have much larger problems with what is left of this country.

Yea, keep your eye on the Goldman Sachs/ Federal Reserve/ Cap and Tax cesspool, that's the ball I'm watching.

I think you do vote with your dollar, I'd buy a Ford.

I'm watching the banking cartels, the banksters are a bigger national security threat than al Qaeda and Iran and NK put together

Good thing this thread hasn't gone over the line of being too political.
