You'll be warm in Kelowna, we used to live there. It is the biggest & busiest city in the 'oh-kahn-AH-gun.(BTW it is spelt Okanogan in the US, but said the same way as us!)
Skookumchuck is in the Rocky Mountain Trench, so you shouldn't be too high there, but I'm not sure about Wells Grey Park, depends where you are.
When you're in Golden , you'll only be just over 50 miles from Lake Louise and the Rockies, which actually start about half way there.
That would be a great day trip.

Never miss an opportunity to walk on the grass.

BTW - forgot to ask - what's the correct pronounciation of Okanagon, O-KAN-a-gun or O-kahn-AH-gun, or...?

AndyLyyc speaks a different "engrish" than the folks in the Okanagan do, because the correct pronunciation is O-kahn-AH-gun

I know about the cookies-biscuit and chips-crisps and fries-chips issues, and I'm sure there are many more! But thanks for the heads-up.

You guys are going to have to get together and agree on that pronounciation! But at least when we mispronounce it, we'll offend only SOME of the people we meet!

You will not hear 'crisps' here, that is a UK word. With cookies & biscuits, in Canada they pretty well use those words the same as you do. (I'm from Wales, so they'll always be 'biscuits' to me)
Both 'chips' and 'fries' are used here, though probably you hear more 'fries'. However if you see 'Burger & chips' on a coffee shop menu, it will be be fries and not potato chips.
You should also know the height of your vehicle in metres just in case!
Oh & please don't ask in a store how much something is in 'Real Money'!
Don't listen to those people from Alberta on pronunciation, they are not as well educated as we is!

There are 3 forest fires burning around Kelowa today. Hwy 97 is in the middle of them.

Yes, I've been thinking about Margaret's trip there. Most of the campgrounds are on that side of the lake, so I imagine she would have to get to Kelowna via Hwy 33. It will be smoky over there though.

Smokey is the least of the worries at this point - might unfortunately be better to avoid the okanagan all-together until the fires are under control... We were down by skookumchuk for the past few days - gorgeous weather, no smoke from the fires...
