Hey thanks, I wondered how they did it. I find it incredible that you can zoom into street view look around 360 degrees, then move 30 ft. down the road and do it again. must be a few gigabytes of information stored somewhere.

it's not Gigabytes it's Petabytes. that is 1024 Terabytes which is 1024GB

As a guy who works in computer storage I'm OK with that. Now everybody go out and take lots of digital photos and upload them to the web communities so all those companies have to buy more storage and my stock price stays high

I use a 32GB thumb drive as a backup but I want to get the newer 64GB thumb drive now. Fry's just advertised a 128GB thumb drive for $127 here.

resmas,
The people standing in the front yard of the house I owned are not blurred out. At leas they weren't 6 months ago when I last looked. I could see them raking the leaves from the lawn.

In Anchorage, our neighbor was walking down the street smoking a cigarette and not blurred out.

Cool! Can't wait to see the updated info! I love my Google Earth - I take "vacations" almost every day with it! LOL!

I saw something funky tarped up on top of a car as I drove from Calgary to Lethbridge. Didn't have a clue what it was. Driving in Lethbridge I saw another one... maybe the same one with no tarp. I kinda thought it might be the google car, so I googled it. It was driving in my neighborhood the other day.

I'm happy to hear this.

When we were in Fairbanks last Saturday and Sunday, when the smoke rolled in later in the afternoon, it was hard to see much of anything, so this must mean you're not still getting the forest fire smoke. Yay!
