Hello all, my 2008 F150 2wd short bed with 32,000 miles has a sever vibration when braking from highway speed (65-70 mph)
I had the tires rotated and balanced and noticed a little improvment but not much. Anyone else had this problem?
Thanks for any help.

Sounds like one, or more of your brake rotors is warped. Probably got hot, and then wet. Quickest way to do it. Take it to your dealer. Have them check the rotors, and turn the warped one flat.

Thanks Terry,
brake rotors being warped was my next guess, I can see the rotors because of the wheel design and they don't appear to have any excess wear, but the warped part a person really can't tell by just looking, yep gonna get the problem looked at.
Thanks,

Usually it is NOT warped rotors. It is usually uneven brake pad deposits.
Try a proper brake bedding procedure. I bet that will fix it.

Pull your brake pads, and put them on a straight, flat surface (steel ruler works well) that'll show any brake pad deposits. If you've got a dial indicator, you can do a runout test on the rotors to see if one's warped.

Just an update and problem solved.
Warpped rotors (they were able to turn them), and new brake pads...just like new... .

Mine is starting to do that a tiny bit at 30K. The tires on this truck were rough-riding from the start. I even drove another identical truck to compare before I bought mine. Right now, the shimmy is minor and happens at about 30mph as I slow down. I suspect it will only get worse. Could've been those long mountain passes out west. Hard to get away from overheating your brakes at some point while towing.
