about a month ago, our old cat (14+), harley, went missing. mind you, he's up there in years and had a bout with cancer that left him 3 legged and timid enough to mostly live in the garage, venturing out (but not far) every now and then to enjoy the sun. DH had been working on something and needed some tools which he'd put in the front winnie basement storage and tho i repeatedly looked in there during those 2 days--didn't see (or hear) him. on the 3rd successive 100 degree day, frantic by now, i found the stinker, alive and thirsty in the basement storage. working on the van today, DH retrieves tools from the rear basement storage, again leaving the hatch open.......so who's worse--the man or the cat?

Since I'm a man....I'll say it's the CAT!
Glad to hear that all is well....and that the cat has those extra lives!!
It may be that the cat is trying to tell you something.....
Your signature has "wee 3......basically, you guys, and the dog!" what about the poor cat...I'm guessing he wants to go along too ...he's sure trying to stow away in the MH

These kitties sure know how to find a good hiding spot (Well, maybe "good" is not the best word here).
Glad all is well.

We have determined that our cat isn't meant to go camping also. One morning (the first morning), we were packed up and ready to leave the campground. The door to the MH didn't latch (my fault) and shortly after that, we couldn't find the cat. We spent about an hour and a half searching the entire campground after completely searching the MH with no luck. After I left my contact info with the campground host, we were prepared to leave the cat behind since he could have been anywhere. After lots of tears by DW, we left and got on the road. About 20 minutes down the road, I felt something touch my leg. I looked down and I was suprised to see it was the cat.
Fast forward a week and we pulled into a CG for some much needed rest and steak when my son asked if he could put the bedroom slide out. I told him to go ahead. He got it out and I heard some loud meowing in a tone that meant trouble. I asked where the cat was and no one had seen him. DW looked at the slide and saw the cat hanging half out. I put the slide in real quick and he came out. I picked him up and he didn't want to let me go. I guess he used another of his lives that day.
Needless to say, he didn't go back into the bedroom the rest of the trip and stayed on the dining room chair when we were driving.

Our cat went missing for a whole month at the Washington coast in Copalis Beach.
She goes in and out of the RV through the forward hatch, climbs up and down the rear ladder. Hasn't been eaten by coyotes or anything else, came close when a barn owl swooped the top of the RV. Now she's pretty happy with her halter and nylon cord.
Seems cats and humans can learn? We figure it's natural selection, and so far she has been pretty resourceful not being lunch for some critter.
