This is what we just found out on a friends Atwood WH. We had put a fan in front of it many times (outside) and after about an hour it would work. Only found out later it was a ground connection on that little screw on the exhaust duct inside the access panel. I have the gas/ele dsi model and the connection on the circuit board sometimes has poor contact. I just pull it off and clean the terminal and make sure the connection is dry and it works. If it's just elec. did you try to run it with no water? It turns out there was a wire in the wall that had somehow gotten disconnected from the switch. There were three wires bundled together & a fourth one that was separate all connecting to the switch. Chaulk it up to as another lesson learned.
