Jayco says I am out of warranty. Supposed to be a 10 yr warranty on the roof.So I thought. Can anyone please help me!! Silly girl that I am. I am being pushed back and forth for a week now. I'm being stuck holding the bag. What recoarse do I have? Roof leaking so bad that I have it covered. Has anyone else had this problem?????Westie494@yahoo.com.

Unfortunately the roof warranty, whether it's 10 or 15 years, is provided by the membrane manufacturer, not Jayco. You can contact the manufacturer (Carlisle, Dupont, etc) and ask them what to do, call Jayco with your trailers VIN number and they can tell you who the manufacturer was.

If they respond, they'll want pics or to examine it. They may say it was not properly maintained. If they say yes, the warranty will only pay for new membrane, not installation! But worth a try!

In the mean time, go to the EternaBond web site and read. It may help you easily repair your roof depending on how bad it is. Good luck!

A Jayco is not just an RV, it's a life choice!

I would say that if in fact you have a 10 year warranty on your Jayco and through no fault of your own the material has failed, your direction is clear. Go after Jayco.

I had an 05 Jayfeather with the TPO roof and it leaked around the A/C unit. Caused major delamination. I traded the dang thing off for a major hit in price. I think my roof only had a 2 or 3 year warranty.

Hi,and welcome to the forum. I don't know any particulars about your ownership, bought new or 2nd owner with warranty, or bought it used with no warranty.

Your model year Jayfeather was known to have problems with the TPO roof. We just had a new complete roof assembly installed on our 2007 Jayfeather 29N LGT, courtesy of Jayco at 9 months out of our 2 year warranty. Jayco covered the entire cost, though no admission from them, whether it was a material, or manufacturing defect.

I took our TT to a very respectable Jayco dealer in Knoxville, Tn., not the dealer that sold the unit new. As soon as the service manager
(who is factory trained and certified) looked at our roof, said oh yeah, we need to get Jayco to replace the whole roof structure, and that's what they did. If you haven't already, you need to call Jayco and asked for a warranty specialist for the area you live. It will probably take a few days for you to hear back from him. Or e-mail customer service with your dilema and asked if your dilema can be sent to a warranty specialist. Jayco is certainly going to tell you at first that your unit is out of warranty. But then explain to them that you are aware of other people that have had these same problems with year models 2005-2007 with the TPO material with the felt like material under the TPO. Alpha systems supplied this product. The felt backing if ever subjected to water from whatever source, will soak up and spread the water, usually over a large area before the top layer of luan starts delaminating to the point one can catch it on a routine roof inspection. I caught ours early, so no damage to anything other than the top layer. From what I have learned, the AC unit may have a wiring nipple and possibly a grommet that has been the most likely cause of water penetrating the roof sub-surface. Good luck and be nice when you speak to the folks at Jayco. They can truly be your best friends. If I can answer any other questions, send me a
PM.

On edit, either find an excellent Jayco dealer with excellent service shop, or ask Jayco to reccomend a dealer for you. A good dealer shop manager with a very good relationship with Jayco is imperative.

Steve

The roof material is covered for 10 years from the production date regardless if you bought new or used, it's in the stack of paperwork they give you. I'd call Jayco again and maybe 2-3 times more until I got someone on the phone who is familiar with their roof warranty and is willing to tell you where to take it to be inspected.

Regardless of what its covered under, Jayco can help you and I would think that they will do so if you get the right person on the phone.

You can also call around to other local Jayco dealers, dealerships make a huge difference in your warranty experiences.

There are a handful of people here who have had the Jayfeather roof replacement issue. It also affected certian Jayflights of the same time period.
