Dear Friends,
While on our way to national campgrounds near Lake George, Colorado, our 1994 Dolphin 35-foot motor home developed a transmission problem. We contacted Coach-Net. Coach-Net did an outstanding job arranging for our tow down to Springs Auto & Truck Service Center in Colorado Springs. We arrived near closing time so Deb Rouse, vice-president, offered an overnight parking space with electrical hook-up.
Next morning we were greeted by Rick Henson, service manager, who listened to our problem and introduced our mechanic. Master mechanic John Jordan started immediately to fix the problem. In the meantime, Lisa Arena, receptionist, helped us find a rental car and suggested several sights to see near the Springs.
While John was working on the transmission (which involved dropping the transmission), he found two more problems – not surprising on a 15 year old motor home with 37,000 miles. The radiator was leaking and the bearing assemblies that support the drive shaft were badly worn. After discussing the options, we asked him to fix those problems also.
Rick Henson tackled the parts investigation which was complex because Ford no longer made the bearing assemblies. It took all afternoon and contacting five different parts suppliers to find the replacement bearing assemblies and get them delivered. Rick was relentless!!!
Once John had everything back together, he went with us for a test drive to make sure all repairs were operating as expected. We also found out he loves horses. He and my wife, Joyce, had several good stories to share.
We would like to heartily endorse the whole Springs Service Center staff, and recommend them for excellent mechanical service (719) 382-0363 if you are near Colorado Springs.
