Yep, we like our basement air too! We control "zones" by closing/opening vents.

Of course we have only one thermostat and have to leave the hall door open when cooling only the bedroom.

What I like about our basement air is that we can get full cooling on 30A service if 50 is not available. I think most roof top units are limited to one on 30A. Our previous coaches were for sure.

Good friend replace his with two roof as once out of warranty the cost of having it worked on was more than the roof units. He said it never cooled well and and was expensive to have it fixed.

I had a winnebago vectra with basement air and loved it. We purchased a new motorhome last year with 2 roof top a/c's and noticed a big difference in the noise level. Would rather have basement, but roof top are just fine.

I'll pile on, too: basement air cools very well in my o3 Journey, but it reallymakes a racket under my bed. I use a little fan till it's just too hot. Likewise, I prefer the propane furnace for heating rather than the heat pump.
All the systems work. It's just whatever you prefer.

I have heard and I think proved myself that when the temp drops below 38 F, the smart system will switch over from heat pump to propane. I believe this has happened to us twice, but we usually try to not get in areas that cold. Is this correct?

My coach is wired with a 50A plug. I've stayed in 30A sites running the heat pump. Could not tell other than by watching the amperage draw whether one or two compressors were running. Both could run and stay under 30A but adding the microwave would be over the top. Did have a circuit board replaced but hot weather is no problem for it.
