Okay , I get the message and I thank you all very much . Just thought there might be one trick that PERHAPS would work for most RVs . I knew when I posted this that the subject has been beat to death and also is a "no brainer" . Can't blame a guy for trying to discover a new "trick" to avoid the process can ya !

I've been there and, if it were me, I would not winterize as long as I think it won't get below upper 20's and even a little lower as long as I were going to be in the unit and runing the furnace. The one concern would be being on the road driving with the furnace not on and the temp geting below the upper 20's for a period of several hours.

Good timing, I just came in from blowing out the lines in the 'ol rig. I wouldn't even think about it, except up here we're going to get four nights of in the 20's. That beats my "it takes three freezing nights in a row for problems" rule of thumb.
BTW, Northern MN is starting to look like it could be starting peak color by the weekend.

Drain the water heater, Drain the fresh water holding tank, lean the trailer to pump side of the tank, pure in the gallon, turn the pump on and run each outlet till you see pink. Then you won't have to worry about being sleepless in Northern Hemisphere. all of fifteen minuets in my book. What cost more 20 gallons of LP or $3.99 for a gallon of the Pink Stuff. JM2Cents Bill
Note when you leave just bring a few gallons of store bought water to drink while on the road till you can do a proper flush out.

Good idea. We camped nearby The Dalles, OR two nights ago and some of the RVs hooked up to external water connections (and no overnight water usage) saw a bit of "frost" around the fittings and such. I worried about the unoccupied and unheated units patiently waiting for their owners to return. Anti-freeze is cheap insurance. Sure tastes awful though.

The job is done , drained all water , blew out the whole system ( this is a great idea) , by passed the water heater and CLOSED the low point drains ( forgot to do this on our smaller fiver this year), then I pumped RV antifreeze through the system ( not even two gallons). Yep , did the purge on the fresh water entry too ! My mind is at ease . Someone said , the cost of antifreeze is a lot cheaper than a repair job . That is what pushed me over. Thanks again for all the opinions expressed .
