** just saw message from dodgebob about his cabinet installation, which I will read closer, but would still appreciated comments
I have a new lcd hdtv (24") and would like to install it on an inner wall in my RV (wall between bathroom and bedroom).
Lots of questions:
1. are these internal walls strong enough to have tv mounted?
2. do I need a special "rv" wall mount or would any one do (assuming it is sufficient for the tv weight).
3. any problems with travelling with tv mounted?
4. once mounted, can tv's be removed (example at end of season) or is the tv permanently mounted....
Preferably this would be a do it yourself project and I can do without the $90/hr labor charge. If you've done this, I'd appreciate feedback or suggestions...Thanks in advance.

1) I mounted a 15" with a DVD in my Bedroom
2) I used wall anchors and screws (1.5 inch #8 I believe)
3)I have had no problems as of yet
4)you can unmount the flat screens. The mounts are usually in at least 2 pieces.
You could if wanted to increas the stability perhaps place a piece of 1/4 inch plywood and then mount throught that and the TT wall.. It may add some strength. Again, I just used hollow wall anchors but again.. my tv is not 24"

(response to dodgebob08)
I'm thinking I would buy the mount which would be permanent on the wall, and the tv would attach to the mount. Not straight to the wall

you could mount the TV to a piece of plywood then mount it to the wall, might be cheaper than buying more parts. mounting parts for mine were about $100. make the plywood as nice/fancy or leave plain, depends on how much work you want to do.

If your Airstream is built like mine, the wall between the bedroom and bathroom is vinyl covered 1/2 inch plywood which is strong enough to hang a large LCD on. If you intend to remove it regularly, look for a wall mount that locks securely for travel and yet unlocks easily when you want to move it. The TV's owner's manual will tell you what bolt pattern the mount will need to have. I travel with two LCDs on wall mounts and no problems so far.

Rig is 2000 landyacht, so I believe the interior wall will be similar. Being able to remove the tv would be my preference, but keeping it stable and out of the way is also important.
Thanks to all for comments.

I have a new lcd hdtv (24") and would like to install it on an inner wall in my RV (wall between bathroom and bedroom).
Lots of questions:
1. are these internal walls strong enough to have tv mounted? Can't say about yours but MOST are strong enough when correctly mounted. I'd recommend toggle bolts for mounting to a hollow wall.
2. do I need a special "rv" wall mount or would any one do (assuming it is sufficient for the tv weight). Standard wall mount should serve just fine but I'd be cautious about the adjustable swivel mounts. If you decide to use them make sure it has a lock that prevents it from swinging out while traveling.
3. any problems with travelling with tv mounted? See previous line. No problem when correctly mounted. Mine has been mounted on the wall for over 60,000 miles with no problem.
4. once mounted, can tv's be removed (example at end of season) or is the tv permanently mounted.... The style used to mount mine is a simple wedge type mount and to remove the TV all that is required is to lift it out of the V shaped mount. I don't TAKE it out but it can be done easily enough if there were a reason.
Preferably this would be a do it yourself project and I can do without the $90/hr labor charge. If you've done this, I'd appreciate feedback or suggestions...Thanks in advance.
