We quit work many, many years ago with less than one million dollars in investment. DH is now 62 1/2 (I'm 58) and we are F/T living now. Sold the house as we could not afford the payment on new RV plus keeping a house we didn't want anyway. Less is more in that departmet. We do have an RV payment every month but that is only debt we have. We will keep current RV until we quit the lifestyle. We will keep toad until it won't run anymore (we do regular maintenance to keep them in good shape). You can live on almost any amount of money if it will cover your needs...not wants. We run a fairly tight budget because we wanted the bigger DP and were willing to pay for it by making some sacrifices with other things. We have campground memberships that help with rent and we also look for cheap monthly rates at times. We don't eat at many restaurants as cooking at home is healthier anyway. Our needs are really few, but it still costs a good amount of money to pay for fuel, health insurance, food, etc. I say...go for it and try to economize until you get the feel for what budget works best for you.

We considered Full Timing in our future and haven't completely eliminated it from tomorrows possibilities. We have had some changes in our health picture, but F/T is still doable. I try to keep aware of trends in the economy. You might find this as informative as I did:

Boy and for a minute there I thought I wouldn't be able to full time in a few years! Now at least I know I have a fighting chance along with everyone else.

Life is short, enjoy it the way you can and live one day at a time. It's not about how rich you are or what you have, we all leave this life with the same toy and then, have to all answer the same questions. Take care of each other when we can, share and share and share..............be good and you'll be happy in the end.

Don't forget- We'll all have to replace our RV someday. And, boy do they depreciate. Probably the biggest single component of RV-ing. This would be one of the problems with "living on the edge", having just enough to get by.
