I know there are products that you use to clean and then treat the rubber roof. But exactly how do you go about it? I know you should not let the solution run down the sides and you need to use a mop. Does the cleaning agent get diluted and then air dry do you rinse? If you use a bucket how many times do you change the solution?....

Thanks

I just had a long time RV repairman and owner of his own RV repair business tell me that he uses Softscrub so I did. I used a bucket of water to dip a sponge mop in and used a rag to get around things and rinsed with a hose. Probably should have got a clean bucket more often but still it seemed to work as well as anything so I wouldn't bother with the special RV products. The Softscrub was $4 at Lowes. Really I think all you can do is clean it. I can't imagine anything that would really coat and protect it very long.

the stuff they sell ya have to clean n treat it like every 2 months! i just wash mine, but it has a aluminam roof. but i work prob 60% of my time on roofs instead of the appliances n such. just clean ir 2 to 3 times a year, and cover it with a rv cover when yer not gonna use it for awhile.

About once or twice a year I use a mild dish soap solution to clean my 18 year old rubber roof and no treatments or coatings.
